tabasco
I believe Weathersbee was the one that had 22 pts. He is a 6'5" junior, Miller had a nice game, but not 22 pts.
Guest Sangster05
Weathersbee was quite impressive last night. Miller would be much better if he could make a free throw. He does a great job of getting to the line he just cant make them count. It was good to have Thompson back on the court and Ive been on his bandwagon his whole PNG basketball career. Through his "feud" with Coach Abel and all. BUT Im starting to feel for what Coach Abel has to put up with. Thompson is a good player, could be a GREAT player. But honestly he's a senior in high school now and its time for him to grow up already. Its time for all the trash talking to the other players, all the floping on the court everytime he gets touched, complaining to the refs the entire game because he thinks they should be calling 5 seconds, the spitting in the garbage can before he inbounds the ball, and making every little minor thing into a big dramatic event. He has to come out at least twice a game and get his ankle taped or his back looked at no matter what the score is. TThomp, Its time to suck it up, keep your mouth shut, and be the leader this team needs you to be.

Thompson is always arguing with Abel and that is part of the reason why PN-G is never good. I think someone needs to show Travis this and maybe he will "see the light" and play better using his teammates to his advantage.
IndianPride
Correction. Thompson scores all the points for them. 25 of the 40 points against Ozen yeah I think so. And Abel getting a double tech and getting kicked out of the game? Wow way to show your kids good sportsmanship. I think Thompson as seen the light, he is the best player they got. So you might need to shut your mouth and go to some games.
Guest Sangster05
IP, Abel getting kicked out of the game had/has nothing to do with good sportsmanship. Abel was actually just fighting for his players. Its pretty pathetic that their coach has to do something radical like that to try and get more out of his players. But if that what it takes thats what it takes. As far as basketball goes, I dont think that Abel is the right guy to be coaching at PNG anymore. Its definitely time for a change. A good coach is one that is able to gain his players trust and show them he believes in their abililities as they should believe in his. Coach Abel gives them nothing to believe in. No track record, no past experiences, nothing. I am very close to a couple of guys on this years team and theres just no chemistry between him and his players. The guys believe in/trust/respect Asst Coach Mike Arnaud more than they do Coach Abel. As far as Travis "seeing the light" and knowing hes the best player on the team. Of course hes the best player on the team, but there is a fine line between being the best player on a mediocre team and being a leader and making his team a better than mediocre team. And by acting like he is too good for the team is not what he needs to be doing. Hes needs to nut up and lead by example instead of leading with his mouth/poor attitude. basketballislife
In defense of Thompson. He does lead by example, he has been on varsity for three years now, and does all he can do. Having 25 of the 40 points of Ozen u can not ask for much more out of a "leader". He has a GREAT player, his attitude has nothing with the way his teams plays. I am sick and tired of hearing about his "attitude" look at J'Covin an amazing player with a bad attitude and look at his game! Thompson if u read this things, dont listen to what people say, you are one of the best players to come through this school, and we are behind you all the way!You are a great player and we love you very much! Keep up the hard work.
SETXBALLIN
Come watch the indians face off tomorrow against the WOS mustangs and then tell me what you think. Ive watched the Indians some this season and have seen improvements. When they play together they are very good and hard to stop. Thompson is the leader on this team but some other players are starting to step up...ex Ryan Miller, Travis Weathersbee, and Mitch Todd
ofrover
This is PNG basketball we are talking about, right? Historically Indian basketball teams play hard and have a lot of heart, but just are outmatched man for man in the end. Coach Abel does a fine job with his players, and coaches the game like it should be coached. Maybe the players should respect the man that is in charge and enjoy their season for what it is worth.
