I listened to an episode of the Coaches Lounge from this past summer where Coach Negro, from SJB, and another private school California coach talk about their reach from the greater Los Angeles area.

Ridiculous really.   They have 12,000,000 people to choose their football team from.   No restrictions whatsoever.   All the best kids from that huge area go to 3 or 4 schools.

They are nothing more than the IMG model.

High School football has become a joke.

And that's why comparing them to any of the public school powerhouses is useless. It would be like taking some of the best pieces from all the schools in Houston and putting together a team. No doubt they would play neck and neck with those kids.

You should see the comments in the YouTube videos. Cali folks say they have the best football because of these two highly recruited schools (De La Salle too)…and our football is trash. It’s like saying last years Rams should be able to beat the AFC pro bowl team. When you point it out they say we are crying and that we also recruit. 😜

I agree…it’s the only way we could compete with those type of schools. Make two power house private schools in each of our four major cities. They compare a transfer here and there to recruiting a whole team. They say “y’all recruit in Texas too”. 😆

California folks are the most delusional folks in regards to HS football. It's gotten significantly worse with them over the last 10-12 years in my opinion. 😂

Believe me l know 😆. Being that l live in Dfw l’ve seen these powerhouse private schools manhandle some of our best teams. It’s not even close… Cedar Hill was killed by Bishop Gorman, Desoto killed by IMG and SFA, Dville killed by IMG and Mater Dei, Allen killed by St John Bosco…at halftime the game is already over. Plus l knew about Mater Dei and SJB recruiting because my coworker used to train some of the kids in LA.

Was there a team around Belt Line Rd that beat De La Salle several years ago here in Texas??

DLS was supposed to play North Shore in 2020, but covid put a stop to that.

Mater Dei head coach is stepping down after this year. Be interesting to see if it impacts the program in the long run.

Very interesting…they say he’s a pretty good coach. It will be a dream job l’m sure plenty will interview for.

Completely agree.

Allowing Texas and A&M to recruit nationally with unlimited scholarships, and the rest of the NCAA only to recruit from within their home state.

Not sure why these high school coaches schedule IMG, SJB, and the rest of the football factories.

Those schools in Cali are kinda like what Carthage has done except on a smaller level. Get all the best players in the surrounding districts and you got yourself an all-star team. 😂
