I think it really became a thing about two weeks ago, or maybe 3.  It was after the FBM vs Ned epic lightning delay.

Yeah. First round playoff games in the slop are normal things. Often times it benefits one team over the other and has always been seen as part of the game. These decisions to adjust game times and days to avoid playing in the rain are soft as baby bleep.

It's about avoiding the lightning not the rain.

Correct. It's about avoiding lightning delays. A lightning strike within 5 miles of a stadium causes a minimum 30 minute delay. Any strike within that 30 minute delay resets the clock. This is UIL policy.

Coaches want to avoid these type of delays.

Agree it is to avoid the delays. It is nealy a 3 hour bus ride for Montgomery and to make that drive on friday and then cancel to Saturday would be a big disadvantage fo them.
