How many rounds were there baxk then? 4? With more schools it went from 5 to 6 rounds over the past 15 years or so.

In the 70's there were only 4 rounds in the playoffs. Bi-district, state quarterfinal, state semifinal, state championship.

What about the Zone Championship game? Was that part of the playoffs? I know in '71 Silsbee was 10-0 and played in a Zone game before the Bi-district game, we beat West Orange 14-7

That is not always the case with every district. Just some districts had zones.
