TxHoops
Sorry but the co-mvp thing is weak. There was one player in that district who was EASILY the best. But we live in the day of throw the second place team (or third place or whatever EC was) a bone. I totally agree with you on this selecting process. There should be only 11 players selected, both offense and defensively to each team, 1 MVP, 1 OFFENSIVE, DEFENSIVE, UTILITY player of the year. You have kids now playing sparingly in 3-4 games all year and make all district. What this says about the coaches are they don’t really know the game of football in selecting these teams. What they do know who what kids parents are members of the Booster club, what parents are donating to the school or the program. This has been going on for the past 15-20 years. There are no such All District teams anymore TxHoops

He won or put them in position to win at least 6 games alone. The Dischler kid did the unthinkable of gaining over 2000 yards which was exceptional. I thought the Dischler get may have had an advantage because he played an exceptional game offensively and defensively against EC. It’s very rare that a player from a 3rd place team wins an award of this kind. To be honest, Corbett of Anahuac could have shared this award as well. A healthy Cobitt against OF would have been a win for Anahuac. Either of these kids deserved this award and honor. Proud of Perrault stepping up and carrying those Bucs. The real coach for encouraging and motivating Perrault will never receive any recognition for him taking over this team and leading them the way he did. Congratulations to both MVPs TxHoops

Yes they are very well represented, and very easily could have won this district had Landon Corbitt, RB for Anahuac had played in the game against OF. He is what you call an MVP. You can not win games without him and he showed that in his absence. At the same time, EC could not have won many games without Perrault. As for OF, it’s hard to say because they had some talent at RB

TxHoops
Look I’m sure the Perrault kid is amazing. But the best player on the best team in the district (on both sides of the ball) was a layup MVP. Add to that he rushed for almost 2500 yards (on way less Carries than you would think)? A QB would need to pass for about 3500 yards or have about 4-5k all purpose yards to put up similar numbers. I highly doubt that’s the case here. This was just another example of watering down awards to make sure everyone gets a ribbon. Been going on for years and it is what it is. Even when it’s as easy as it was here.
