I knew that up front on both sides of the ball they were much better than Silsbee. I thought skill wise Silsbee was on par with Carthage. Carthage would dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides. Out of region 3 or 4 anyways. Glen Rose was the 2nd best team in 4A-D2. Silsbee, mainly Miller, would have scored, but couldn’t have kept Carthage out of the endzone. I actually think it's pretty good. Anyway.. I didn't know this beforehand but in this setting, soccer teams actually move up "classifications" or down depending on the previous year's season results. The premise is that this particular football (soccer) club is trying to be promoted into the next leagues up. I like it. I said that to say this.. That's soccer European Soccer. This is Texas Football. Even if Carthage is clearly dominant in their classification, it's still their classification regardless. I understand what you're saying, though. I don’t know if Region 3 isn’t as strong as we thought, or what?! But you would think that Cuero, Silsbee and a few others would be able to out athlete and have much more speed than Wimberley. I feel Wimberley is fairly well coached, but seem to lack athletes. That said, I’m not sure anyone will beat Carthage next year either. They have said for years that the current freshman, and sophomore classes are great.
Tim Riggins
Carthage has won district in 14 out of the past 16 seasons so if your team is in their district you know going in that you’re basically playing for 2nd place …..
