Would love to see it, Offense has been a problem the past two seasons, particularly at tailback. If we can put a couple of big time threats back there, we might have a shot. A lot would have to go right.

Going to have to replace that QB Simmons that was the bulk of the offense.

Coldspring going to make a push in the 3AD1 region. They are bringing a loaded wagon.

I highly doubt that unless they have some Jr. High guys coming in as freshman that will be on varsity or something.  I can only see them pushing for a district championship and even that's a little bit too much for them as far as the upcoming season goes.

Every starter on defense is back and nearly all starters on offense return. Got at least one Freshman that will be making an impact on Varsity.

They may be true but only time will tell... At least the QB Monroe and RB Hardin returns for their last year.

They were 5/5 last year. Those coming back were not that good last year. Expect more of the same next year.

Many were sophomores. 4 of the 5 losses were by a TD or less and they beat Diboll. Very common for a young team to have inconsistency. There is an incoming freshman that will impact both sides of the ball. Contending for District is the minimum.

My apologies, they will win state.

Expect them to improve, but they’re not going from missing the playoffs in a district that had 0 teams make it out of the second round to going to state.  Diboll beat a 4-win team in the first round of the playoffs by a fg, then got blown out in the second.  An upset win over them is not any sort of indicator of a playoff run for coldspring next year.  Their other 4 wins came against opponents with a combined record of 8-32.  I like their chances of finishing 2nd or 3rd in the district next year, and maybe winning a playoff game.  To have them mentioned in a thread about teams making it to state is beyond a stretch.

Understood. Outside of Franklin the region is not immense with powerhouse programs. The initial statement was that they will contend in the region. I guess we will see. Just out of curiosity, other than Franklin, who do you see as the Regional power?

Lorena was a little down last year, but won a state championship the year before.  Yoe is in the same district as them and is generally very good.  Columbus also comes to mind as a very good team that’s capable of making a run (Franklin beat them by 3), and Hitchcock should be good again next year.  But all roads lead through Franklin
