These kids are paid TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS an hour to do graduate assistant jobs around campus, and also get free healthcare, while on average receiving $20K in tuition assistance a year. They're wanting more perks, and a "substantial raise" greater than the 3.5% raise the university is offering them. This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in like 2 days. From the article: "As the university has advised the Temple University Graduate Students' Association and its members on multiple occasions, graduate students who choose to participate in the strike and not perform the work for which the university employs them will no longer receive compensation and their work-related benefits while they are on strike," Steve Orbanek, a university spokesman, told Newsweek.
