Snell with a no doubter line drive over the left field wall.  2 on (1st and 2nd) top 9 Lamar still batting with a 3-2 lead.

Lamar wins another opening with 7 straight victories by a score of 2-1.

Jacob Ellis with 7 strong innings of work tonight.

Next game tomorrow evening versus Houston Christian.

7-0 start to the season. They haven’t done that in a while. Way to go Cards. Keep it up

Offense needs to get clicking tonight.  Averaging just under 5 runs a game this far on the season and 3 scoreless so far.

Down 1-0 in the top of 4th with HCU threatening.

Headed for extras.  HCU went 15 innings Friday night in a wild 21-14 loss.  Yes, a football score.

4-3 Lamar wins.   8 and 0.  Nice start to the season.  One concern though as the offense is starting a bit slow. Time will tell if they can produce a little more.  Pitching production has been solid.

Very nice start and should win the next 4 with a couple of weak teams coming to Beaumont. 12-0 start would be very good

Not sure Penn is a weak program.  Played for the IVY league championship last year and played Sourh Carolina quite well to open the season this year.

Up 6-0 after 4 against Alcorn State. Alcorn had the worst rpi in D1 last year and ranked 301 out of 301 according to Boyd Nation's Boyd's World website.  Lamar should cruise and thus far they are doing so.

11-2.  Lamar moves to 9-0.  Take on the Penn Quaker from the Ivy League in a 3 game set this weekend.

I hope your right, but the Quaket had an rpi in the mid 50s last year.   The Ivy league can get some players in baseball.  Often kids from very affluent families with offers from big name programs.

Do you guys have any current RPI services you view that you consider reliable? I've checked a few and they are kind of wacky. For instance one has Oakland ahead of us and we swept them and they only won one other game.

Lamar should be decent playing at home. Penn lost a three game series to top 25 South Carolina last weekend and that is the only games they have played. South Carolina is currently 9-0.

I believe I saw that very one you mention.  I like the Boydsworld website, but I believe that one is still a few weeks out from being released.  Any RPI at this time will be quite skewed with so few games played.

.Made the first 5 and 1/2.  Lamar's starter left after only 2 innings. Hope it wasn't a serious issue.  It definitely wasn't planned as the 2nd guy took a few minutes on the hill to get ready.

Well the streak is over. The Cards have 2 nice wins over A&M and KState. Tonight an ugly loss to Penn. 3 hits with 2 of those in the 9th and a horrible 4 errors. I hope they can come back tomorrow and Sunday It appears that the Ivy League is better than the Southland
