Should win today That’s why I love to win the games by design. Our pitching keeps the opponent’s score low (2 runs or less). Our run support can score enough to win (at least 3 runs). Middle relief pitching to rest your starter after doing his job and keep score about the same, then close it out. If anybody expects to score 10+ runs per game, they are dreaming. Must win the close ones, since most games are. I agree win your statement. Also, I know enough to respect the other teams effort. These are all professionals. Smug attitudes get their just rewards. rupert3 Posted August 20, 2023 Report Posted August 20, 2023 Oh well lose 7-6 now closer to 3rd than 1st Quote
spidersal Posted August 20, 2023 Report Posted August 20, 2023 Wow AggiesAreWe, the Astros are really playing well. A little over a month left. If they continue to perform like these last 3 games that were at home, your prediction may not happen Quote

spidersal Posted August 20, 2023 Report Posted August 20, 2023 You are correct, so they don’t have many left, so they better get to playing some good baseball quickly rupert3 1 Quote

myrecordwashorrible Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 Astros website reports a team meeting after today's loss. Not something you see very often, but it does occur. If you live and die with every pitch in baseball, you're begging to be on the "high blood meds" and thinners as well. However, this was a frustrating weekend for the team and fans. rupert3 1 Quote
rupert3 Posted August 22, 2023 Report Posted August 22, 2023 McCormick shines again 2 homers win 9-4 Quote
Bulldogs92 Posted August 22, 2023 Report Posted August 22, 2023 The top three in the AL West are really good teams. Seattle (my team since moving there in 1997) is 32-14 in last 46 and 15-2 in last 17 road games, but they can't keep this up. The question is whether they can stay in the race. It's definitely fun right now. Quote

Their biggest thing is they have been there and done it for the past 6 years. Pitching needs to come around or Seattle will win the division. My guess: 1. Astros 2. Seattle 3. Texas (Misses playoffs) Quote

Last night looked good they just can't put a streak together. Hope they don't run out of heroes. Quote
rupert3 Posted August 23, 2023 Report Posted August 23, 2023 Nice 9K 6 inning outing for Verlander. Thought Montero was gonna blow it in the ninth but a good win 7-3 myrecordwashorrible 1 Quote

I've been dying to hear from you the past two nights so I can know how to feel about the team. Quote
spidersal Posted August 23, 2023 Report Posted August 23, 2023 The last 2 wins have been nice They have hit better the past 2 nights and Verlander did a nice job last night. They need to keep it up. They can’t afford 2 good games and 2 bad games. They are only 1/2 game out of 1st, but also are only 1 1/2 out of 7th Quote
baddog Posted August 23, 2023 Report Posted August 23, 2023 Mariners lost today. Astros can tie for 1st and gain a game on the Mariners with a win. Still lots of baseball to be played, but this is great. Quote
