A really good basketball player has to be lucky enough to have a mentor or coach to guide them early.  AAU and lil dribblers probably do as much harm as good.

What if he got seriously injured?  Or what if his nil deal was conditioned on not playing any other sport? These kids that are at Drelon’s level can now become millionaires before they leave college.  It’s easy for us to say be loyal to your hometown. I can tell you, I love my hometown but I love my family more. Drelon and Jared should both be in the top 1% of income earners in Silsbee, Texas within months of graduation.

I remember hearing about some high level athletes getting insured for up to a million dollars. I don't remember the specifics. It may have just been for kids who already had a few years of college play.

Both Miller and Harris have opportunities 99.9999 percent of us will never have. Can't blame them for taking it and doing what's best for themselves.

Very true. Another side to that is such an injury could happen on the footballl field this fall as well…

This is true. It could happen in spring drills, during 7 on 7, anytime.  That's the nature of the beast.  A person could lightly jog across campus and tear and ACL.  

I don't want to give legs to this, but there's a 2nd elephant in the room.  If Dre leaves Jared may do the same.

I believe Jared will need to attend the spring semester at high school in order to get his proper credits to graduate.

Drelon will have his at end of fall semester.

Whatever you do Dre and whenever you do it, get that degree, or be well on your way to getting it if a good chance at the NFL comes along. Engineering, IT/computers, History, sociology whatever.

I'll roll with Booker T since their local. I dont think they can win that game.
