Just give it time if winning starts happening… being down past couple years people ware wanting a winning product.

The coach has to play the hand he is dealt. Sometimes you don’t get dealt 4 aces. Some people think you should win every year regardless of the hand you are dealt. They should fire Nick Saben for not making the playoffs last year. He had to deal the hand he had. Comments like you have 7 years to win state..ha
I guess every team has their haters. It is a terrible thing to hate. There is a couple on here that hate Nederland, bet you do not find them in church today.

Word on the street the transfer QB will be competing for the spot but has not been awarded the position. I feel the coaching staff is going to evaluate all the players and utilize them to strengthen the entire Team. Our defense should be pretty solid but our OLine is truly gonna have to play with heart and grit due to their lack of size. Size doesn't always matter as we all know. It will be very interesting to see who comes out on top and I am excited to hear that the Coaching staff is going to give the returning qb's a shot at the position along with the new transfer. May the best Athlete Win!!!

That should definitely be in favor of the transfer, you would have to think.

Did his son come with him

We open against Anahuac next year. Hope he is at Nederland, he picked us apart last year. All of you that said he needed another year at Anahuac, just watch and see.

The final score last year was Newton-30  Anahuac- 14.  Anahuac was held scoreless in the 2nd half. I'm assuming Newton defense was picked apart in the 1st half by Anahuac QB to score the 14pts. or Anahuac QB led the offense in the redzone most of the game but couldn't score. Anahuac must not report game stats or game videos anywhere because none can be found yet on the young gunslinger QB from Anahuac from last year.

I was at the game last year. Anahuac moved the ball well in the first half but Newton led 16-14 at half. Newton dialed up the pressure in 2nd half, sacking the freshman QB several times and picking him off twice. Made him make some rookie mistakes.

I will be very interested in the progress this young man will have to make going from 3A ball to 5A ball as a soph. I think he has potential but I predict a rough season for him.

I bet there too will be some early season growing pains, but he will pick it up quickly and have a very respectable season.  If I remember correctly, Neece called him the next Sam Bradford, so that's big shoes to fill for the young man.  I believe he has more upside than the majority of qb's that play at the next level that have come out of setx, but he's still very young and its a long road ahead.  I look for Nederland to get much better with Tom Brady Barrier under center.

I was at the game too. I am talking about how he completed a lot of his passes and kept our offense off the field. Newton had to work to win this game. I was talking to neece before the game and he was telling me he had a QB that was going to be D1 QB.

if you come to a Newton game next season, look me up. I will be on the Newton sideline. This will be the 34th and last year I will be doing security for Newton. However I staid that the last two years.

The biggest difference I saw in Brady was that when the season started, he was a skinny incoming 9th grader, all of 140 lbs at 6'0.

I can't tell you what his height and weight is today, but I saw him two weeks ago at a baseball game and he's not the same looking kid.  I didn't get close enough to him to tell exactly how tall he was, but he was taller than me and I am 6'2

Search Anahuac Sports Live on youtube. Should have all of last years games on there. See for yourself.

I saw him recently too and he's got to be at the very least 6'1"-6'2" and about 170lbs or more.  He looked as heavy as I am and I'm 5'9, 180.  If he keeps growing, I can see him being 6"3-4" and 190-200.  He will be a sophomore for Nederland.

I got to know Brady at Hardin and he is a good kid who is just athletic as all get out.  He knows what he can do and maximizes his ability.  He just soaks in football and it's thanks to his dad.  Ned was a pretty good QB back in his day.

It will be interesting to see who has the most playoff appearances and playoff wins over the next three years, Anahuac or Nederland.

Good luck to all concerned, and I hope Anahuac (lets not forget them!) finds the right one fill their QB position. With the growth Anahuac is experiencing they should have someone on hand to step in and do real well.

We played Anahuac opening game last year and he was not a 140 lb. QB.  Program listed him at 6’1” Fr. 187 lbs.
