In I think 1971, Nederland beat a high ranked (#1?) Sterling team 3-0 at Bulldog Stadium on a field goal with about 15-20 seconds left in the game.

Fifty years ago was a long time for my memory to fade but I always remembered as Houston Sterling. Perhaps it was Baytown Sterling?

 I think (memory again) Nederland’s kicker was David Burns??

That was Houston Sterling but you got the year right 1971
