Why isn’t the higher seeds getting first round at their home? Never understood why that doesn’t happen.

The only part of the 1st round that is guaranteed is that the 1st place team in each district gets to decide on 1 game vs 3 game. Everything else is agreed on, flipped for, etc. In the lower classifications, the schools are pretty spread out, so its hard to go a "home and home." You usually see that in the 5 and 6a levels where the bi district rounds are closer together.

Austin Westlake... 30-3, district champs and their 1st rd playoff schedule is... at Vandegriff, then home and home (if needed).
