Guest Kelly Football Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Who is the best active high school football coach?(not all time just active) Who do you think the best active high school football coach is at any classification??? (Remember only active coaches not all-time greatest)
Bulldog92 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I would say its a push between Hooks and Barbay. Both have been at their schools forever it seems and all they have ever done is win. They could win anywhere and Orange and Newton are fortunate to have them.I'd like to see a third coach step up and be a part of the conversation, but it would take years and years of winning. I'm not sure there's anyone else even close...
oldmanfb Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 yep u have to give it to the 2 grandpa's- they are both coaching grand kids of x-players and still winning lol
ANpantherfan Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 jerry stewart is a awesome coach, has a inflated ego,but boy can he coach.
Bucof2010 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Barbay has been winning football games since before my father was born not much competition. I do wonder why he hasnt coached at college or pro level

AJ25 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 i know this is probably expected from someone from lumberton, but coach C has done a great job of taking over and completely revamping lumberton's football program!

He has done a great job and deserves all of the credit he gets, but he's not legendary just yet. He's off to a nice start, though. Hopefully, Lumberton can keep him around for a while.

Serpentor Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Is there any reason Im not not hearing Cornell Thompson?
adminbaberuth Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 To me when you compare Coaches' Hooks and Barbay it's like Ruth or Aaron, you can't go wrong. And yes Cornell would be the unsung one, maybe Lou Gehrig.

He has done a great job!!! Hopefully the Lumberton Administration realizes what they have. You can bet that schools looking for a coach will come after him....
