Two weeks from tomorrow is the first scrimmage. That tells us how much heat a kid can take.
years ago football practice started the same day school started which was the Monday after Labor Day. First Monday in sept. The UIL has to start now in order to finish before Christmas. Summers are getting hotter. Something has to change.

Sunrise practices and or sunset practices.  Anything after 10 am or before 5pm is a crap shoot

Not for sure what years ago you are referring to, I played in the 70's, and we had full pad 2 a days, for 2 weeks before school started. And guess what , we had some 100 degree days here in Central Texas. Coaches didnt believe in water breaks either back then. lol

Not too hard to fix. Practice early or practice late. The mornings have actually been pleasant this week.
