2023 Pick 'ems - Weekly Results/Discussion

Step right up ladies and gentlemen. The 2023 WOSgrad Pick'ems competition will begin soon.

Everyone is welcome to compete. It's a 17 week battle with no bye week. I plan to only have Friday night games. But with the talk of official shortages already these games may change to Thursday or Saturday. Keep a close eye on the Lock Times each week. I'll make an announcement here if I'm moving the times up. And if you find yourself not making the deadline. Send me a PM with your picks and I'll count the games that haven't been played. Hopefully that means "NO FREEBIES". Last year we had a total of 7, with only 8 pts separating the top 5. 

Also if anyone notices a mistake please let me know as soon as possible.

Excited for Round 2 this year. Got 9th place last year for my first time playing. Did particularly well during the playoff portion, ranking as high as 3rd for the playoff total. I'm going to try to play the Dave Campbell's Pick 'Ems this year.

It's easy. Pick the winner of the 25 games each week. Most people quote, or copy and paste, the original post. Then make your picks bold text.

The most I ever bet is $1 per game. But I've got a stack of them at work from those that thought they could beat WOS. Lost a couple last year but who's counting. 

We could at least offer a gift card to the winner. Maybe Academy or a local restaurant?

After taking several years off I played last year and finished 2nd for the regular season, 1st for the playoffs, and 1st overall.  Somebody needs to beat me this year.  Can’t have the football pickems won two years in a row by one of the site’s best soccer players 😀😀

I guess.  statistically it's pretty improbable since it's the only effort I've even made in several years.  Once in a blue moon is probably a better description of how often I do pickems.

@DP#1FAN this is the area for any discussion. There's at least 30 local Golden Triangle teams in our coverage area. Someone is almost always left out. I'll get them in next week. But to keep the masses of south Newton County happy. Send me a list of the games you'd like included.

I'm right where I need to be to start the season. Hopefully we don't have wet weather during the games next week, if so it'll be alot more toss up games, which will make pickems a bit interesting.
