Soulja I’ve been around as long if not longer then you. I just can’t get into my old account. Lol

United is a poor man’s Cental. United wouldn’t beat BH, Crosby, PAM, or probably even LaPorte or Porter. Stick to basketball.😂

We’d make the playoffs in your 5a district.  But BH would finish dead last in our district.  🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️.  Don’t care how long you’ve been around.  You’re still talking very foolish.

BTW, I don’t know why y’all talk crap about basketball like it’s an insult.  When we hoist state championship trophies and such, while BH….  Well, smh.

Who cares about your current district. Nobody cares, I’m talking about United and West Brook if they drop down to 5A.

we got plenty of state championships my man. Open your eyes up past football and basketball. We can compare overall state championship in a number of sports if you want to go that route. Heck, we can even talk about education too if that tickles your fancy, but I don’t think you want that smoke.😂😎

Yes. I am product of BISD. Ozen should've never been created. It opened my senior year at WB (Fall 1997) That was Thomas' decision. Things were fine like they where. Clearly someone was in his ear, as he was not a Beaumont guy. The wanted to bring the old Pear orchard high back.

Actually the Hebert Alumni that's still here in Beaumont wanted a version of Hebert back. Led by one of the school board members who graduated from Hebert opening a high school in that area was one of the terms of bringing Thomas to  Beaumont.

Only way BISD has a chance compete in football is if they go to one school & adopt everything I’m going to state below:

Coaching Purge:

Schematically Beaumont is so far behind the curve when it comes to the things they’re teaching those kids on the field. And this is because 90% of the coaching staffs at both schools haven’t coached anywhere outside of Beaumont. So most have no clue what a good offensive/defensive scheme is & couldn’t get on the board & explain why they run it.

Admin Purge:

It takes more than coaching to win & have a successful football program, look at any successful program across the state & you’ll notice they all have one thing in common. TALENT & an ADMIN who’s built a foundation for their athletic programs to be successful (specifically football). Gotta have true feeder schools, HC has gotta be able to hire his middle school coaches, 90 min athletic periods, coaches not teaching tested subjects etc etc

Facilities:

Get this every school in 21-6A will have indoor facilities in the next couple years EXCEPT BISD. Humble ISD AD just granted indoors for every school in Humble as his parting gift & NS is waiting on the bond to pass to get theirs. Meanwhile BISD schools are still practicing on old grass fields & working out in outdated weight rooms. Smh

Until BISD does all of the things I named plus more Beaumont don’t have a chance to be successful in football whether they’re playing 5A or 6A!

Don’t post much on the board anymore but I still come in from time to time. I moved (work related) but I always supported BISD sports and still do! Not going to lie I don’t remember Beaumont being this bad (Football wise) ever I don’t think. It was always at least one good team in the city. Now the season is still early and things could change but even last season it was something different.

When Stowers left Central after going 4 rounds in 2009 I knew something was wrong. Central was going to be loaded with talent by a JV and Freshman team plus the ones already on varsity. When I talked to him he didn’t go into detail but mentioned how he had seen the writing on the wall from the admin of BISD, and I think the same could have been said for Stump when he left after being very successful at Westbrook. BISD was not willing to invest into the athletics like other school districts and when it came to Coaching hires, they always did the back door hiring the “friends” instead of the best candidates.  Lord knows I loved Coach Andrew Washington but I think we all knew that was a comfort hire.  Central won those games off talent, and when they played a better coached team it was never close. Westbrook with the talent they had starting in 2007 should have always been a powerhouse specially in this area

Talent will never be an issue in Beaumont, don’t believe look at how many players are in the NFL just based on the last 10 years from Beaumont. It’s now on the Admin, Coaches and Parents. We need to invest in these kids.  BISD Admin is more worried about doing things the cost efficient way, hiring coaches and building facilities, while letting great coaches leave. There is no way WB off a state championship game appearance should lose their HC to LCM (No offense). Parents are also imo a Huge factor in all this, (another story for another day).

so in all it doesn’t matter if BISD had 1 HS or 5 if things don’t start getting better at the top and working it’s way down you will never see the success. There could be Beaumont HS and still be mediocre because we have an incompetent coach, sub par facilities, plus everything else that makes a successful program.  That Athletic period must have changed within the last few years, in 2011 when my nephew was there he always talked about the athletic period. Smh Just hope a few kids get seen and get out individually. Sad to say

Bingo…I tell people all the time (even my close friends who think about applying for a Head Job in BISD) BISD isn’t set up properly for anyone to succeed in football. No matter who the coach is the district isn’t set up for sustained football success. Until this changes nothing will ever change.

By who United? That’s comical Soulja and you know it. I know it’s hard for you to think area 5A teams are just as good as the Beaumont schools, but it’s true. You try to talk about the district that your in as an excuse, but what was the excuse when you could (every now and then)barely beat mid county schools? I’ll wait……

I've been gone for a while since my oldest 2 graduated from BU in 2019 and 2020.  The football program never had a chance when R. J. decided to make his buddy A. L. the first head coach of BU and follow that up with M. G.  There was too much talent on that team, in 5A, to go 2-8.  If the right coach is given the reigns the first year, I think we're talking about a different BU football program today...

Agree with everyone except for needing state of the art facilities . Coach Purge and Admin Purge would be enough to do it but it would never happen unfortunately because they're in the clique

I’m not from Beaumont but live here

now and I’m not familiar with the cliques everyone is referring to. The current coach at Brook has legit credentials. I’m not sure coaching is the issue, but rather think the admin is. I also don’t think that Brook has a whole lot of talent right now. They’ve got a good QB but other than that are there any other D1 prospects?   It could just be that WB isn’t very good bc they are in an extremely tough district and they lack talent.

Go back when David Suggs was HC and the change he made there after Dixon. In two years changed that program around where they went to the playoffs twice with decent records and his last year made it to the quarterfinals of the playoffs. He left after that season. And from there it started changing around that campus. Stowers had some of coach jackson kids which was some good players.

These are a different breed of kids, coaching, recruiting etc. However, i do believe that BU and WB would do great in 5A. With the athletic numbers for WB is screaming 5A. And after watching this film of this game, WB has alot of work to do offensively and defensively. Moreso offensively. They will get better as the season goes on and i have them to make the playoffs but it all depends on how the play that last game with King. I think they win in some tough games

They have talent, but its walking the hallways of the school or playing basketball or has moved to another city. The QB is far from what they hype is. Good kid but don't believe the hype. Their defense is good. returned majority of their defense especially their secondary. They have the district leader in ints and tackles as a FS back along with the DE (very good just have to get more sacks) their other corners are lengthy and fast. And their front 7 is decent.

Offense took some major hits. Lost lineman, wr and rb which contributed majority of their td's. Qb has to do better. Has to make the right reads and receivers have to catch the ball. But most importantly, they have to handle their business off the field. Watch more film, take care of their bodies and stay out of trouble.

These seniors now as freshmen only lost to NS and i think atascocita (i believe). They were loaded as freshman but they lost alot of kids along the way. And the kids they lost were the difference makers. But hey it happens like that..
