myrecordwashorrible Posted August 30, 2023 Report Posted August 30, 2023 Two days until the Cards start play. Do we see an improving program? Quote
spidersal Posted August 30, 2023 Report Posted August 30, 2023 It’s going to be interesting to see Quote
Lions Pride 2021 Posted August 30, 2023 Report Posted August 30, 2023 IDK. Coach talking about slowing the game down by using a four headed running back committee doesn't sound too promising. That's not winning college football in 2023. Our sister schools made investments into their football programs and are now FBS. Lamar continues to half-qrse things. I quit writing checks a few years ago because I'm sick of the less than mediocre results. Lamar, like the Beaumont area, just continues to get left behind while the rest of the state continues to move at warp speed. I still hate the move back to the SLC. What's Lamar gonna do when McNeese moves up? So disappointing... DP#1FAN and navydawg31 2 Quote
KF89 Posted August 30, 2023 Report Posted August 30, 2023 Can't wait to see that East Coast Jersey style football😎, hopefully it's better then other sports coaches styles Lamar has seen the last few years... Quote

myrecordwashorrible Posted September 1, 2023 Author Report Posted September 1, 2023 Not going well. Quote
TxHoops Posted September 1, 2023 Report Posted September 1, 2023 When I saw they had Idaho scheduled, I felt for the new coach. No way they had any chance of being ready for that level of play. Idaho is a nosebleed program at that level. Quote
BlueOwl Posted September 1, 2023 Report Posted September 1, 2023 Let’s be honest, can you actually blame any of these coaches? They are given the opportunity to come coach D1 ball in Texas after coming from a New York or San Diego. The blame for this programs failure is solely on the president and AD’s. These nerds don’t know a darn thing about Texas football. They play daddy ball with their buddies from Marshall and middle Tennessee. If Lamar wants to get serious about athletics they need to get these yankee clowns out and put someone in that know Texas athletics. Fire everyone. KF89 1 Quote
spidersal Posted September 2, 2023 Report Posted September 2, 2023 Poor Lamar they simply can’t put a good athletic team on the field It doesn’t matter whether is is baseball, softball, basketball, or football KF89 1 Quote
Reagan Posted September 3, 2023 Report Posted September 3, 2023 From the article: "The Lamar University football team was dominated from start to finish by a superior opponent during Thursday's season opener, falling to nationally-ranked Idaho, 42-17 at Provost Umphrey Stadium in Beaumont."
