Nederland has to be one of the worst 5A teams in the state. Defense is absolutely horrible and receivers too scared to catch a pass. QB having to run for his life due to poor OL pass protection I notice watching the game, looks like Bulldog side may have about 200 minus the band

Larry Neumann and Delbert Spell were defensive wizards... when they departed, so did the defense..  and a whole lot more. That program has been totally dismantled.

I’m somewhat biased, but let’s give Silsbee a little credit. The D is balling and we are loaded at receiver. 3 TD catches by players not named Miller and Cartwright has yet to touch the ball. The opponent may not be a playoff caliber team, but we have done what we’re supposed to do.

2 things I have noticed watching this game

#1  most teams improve during the season in high school football; it appears that the Bulldogs are getting worse 

#2. It is quite obvious to me that the coaching staff is not getting the job done, especially with the secondary and receivers
