tam2121
Doing some research on Le Vega they have twin Brothers i belive as RB's that have racked up alot of yards along with a QB who can throw the ball.Well we have some almost twin brothers who have racked up alot of yards and a Qb who can throw and run. ;D I'm not sure how good they are, but I looked at their schedule and just about everybody they have beatin have atleast five losses and some that have only won one game all season. We will definately be the best team they have faced.

Homer
The Parr brothers from La Vega are not twins. #12 is a sophomore and #3 is a senior. #12, the younger one, is the better of the two by far.

WOS87
One thing WO-S has in their favor is coaching experience winning later round playoff games.... the 3rd round has been a real stumbling block for La Vega as they've qualified for the playoffs 22 times in the school's history but only advanced past the 3rd round three times, the most recent time being back in 1989.La Vega has 22 All-Time Playoff AppearancesThey were 1A Regional Champs in 1941, winning 2 playoff games (which is the furthest the UIL allowed in the lower classifications at the time)They lost in the 1st round 11 timesThey lost in the 2nd round 2 timesThey lost in the 3rd round 4 times (1950 in 1A, 1953 in 2A, 1994 & 2006 in 3A)They lost in the 4th round 2 times (1987 & 1989 in 3A)They lost in the 2A State Finals in 1951

I've read up on several of their games and, from what I can tell, they are going to be tough. Offensively AND defensively. They are probably not as good running it as Giddings, Giddings was probably the best in the state, but they are pretty dang good. The thing with La Vega though is that they are not one dimensional. As you can see from the stats, they don't throw it a lot, but they are good at it when they do. It also appears he spreads the ball around well including several passes to their backs out of the backfield which we haven't seen much this year. Defensively, they look tough against the run. They held Crocket, a second round opponent to just 40 yards rushing and 121 total yards. Crocket scored 13 points, but one of those was on a kickoff return. They gave up 388 yards to Cameron (in the first round), the majority of that being in the air as well as they only gave up 40 something yards rushing in that one. The Crocket coach commented that they had a very quick defense and could go far. Looks like they are a lot like us. I am confident from reading that they have not played anyone close to Dayton, Bay City or Giddings. The best team they have played so far is China Springs who is in the 3rd round of the 3A playoffs as well. I am also confident they have not faced and offensive line like ours. We may have to go to the air more in this game, but again, I feel like, if we execute and make the most of our opportunities, we will be OK. To add one more thing, and this is not to say they are not a great team, but both of their playoff wins were against 3rd place teams in their respective districts. On the flip side, they have not had a relatively close game. The closest game was a 42-28 win over 2-8 Waco University.

tam2121
I've also noticed that la Vega appears to be weak against the pass. I can't remember which team it was either Cameron Yoe or Crocketts Qb passed for 330 yards against them. Most teams they have played have had success against them in the passing game.
