Remember decades ago when area fans would make jokes about Vidor playing Interstate 10?

VHS - 0

Interstate - 10

Who would have ever imagined that area fans (and WO-S fans) would be making light of the fact that WO-S has a bye week?  I will say this, the bye week is undefeated.  I can't remember the last time the bye week lost to any opponent?  Bye week always holds teams scoreless.  I don't think the bye week feared Dan Hooks or Cornell Thompson so you know bye week will be ready for Coach Hickman.  Somewhere...Vidor fans and I-10 are smiling.

To the hardcore WO-S alums and fans, it's all in good fun.  No disrespect intended.  All SETX fans will tell you, the wins and losses are cyclical.  There are good years and some not so good years.  It happens to all programs.  Hang in there.  It will circle back around.

It’s all good fun on this thread for sure! And I agree about the good/not so good years but at WOS the good years is coming home with the hardware of course, the not so good years of what we know is 2nd in district at worst and a 3rd round exit..of course there is bad years in there too which is no playoffs at all

even better if the same officials are present (the ones who literally did all they could to give Blue&Silver a win).

the play before the "no time down" as ref called  they had about 9 seconds on the clock tried running a sweep wide left and the player was tackled in bounds and there was a offensive holding this is the kicker (cause time should have run out) they literally has stopped the clock with 3 seconds.  WHY? who knows!!!?!

But check this out, the ref then says there is going to be one " no time down" played.

What??!!? so they lined up for another play and qb was sacked!  if they weren't going to give a win maybe that there was of telling the coach "it's 4th down at the 16 yard line, try a field goal and play for OT"!

you can see it for yourself om kjas stream they had.

not with a coach who is literally given "a no tme down" as the ref called it and rather than try a field goal and play for OT you instead line up 4th down at the sixteen yard line when the defense has been eating you up in the red zone and try whatever it was they tried and qb is sacked.

just saying...

I saw a text message from Jasper head coach to the head official of this particular game stating how well he thought the game was officiated and said it was by far the fairest officiating he has had all year.

Your coach was quite pleased with the officiating.

I am just telling you what I read in that text message. The head official showed it to me Saturday morning. Crumedy was very pleased with the officiating from the text message.

Now he may have been upset about that particular sequence but I know what I read.

    • That should tell everyone something pretty clearly. Does anyone really think BH is recruiting elementary kids, to get them to transfer in Jr. high? Seriously? Here is the "dirty little secret" about BH: Most people move to the district for a quality living environment to raise their young family, and benefit from the outstanding acedemics at BH. Even If all athlectics suddenly disappeared from BH, people would still want their kids in the district. If thats not enough to convince anyone, and BH really was determined to recruit, first step would be to have open enrollemnt. It is closed.        Yes, I get it, no one ever wants to give BH the benefit of the doubt on anything. Some of the accusations are beyond ridiculous though. This paranoia the BH critics are afflicted with is not just sad, its flat out laughable.
    • Opting is always an option. Are they considering any BC assistants? Highly qualified after that season they put up.
    • Be that as it may, only time will tell. Hide and watch. Don’t be surprised if the next HC hire uses his own recipe. That happens more than not historically. I am not arguing the point that Hooks & CT had a winning combination that could’ve been carried over. I’m saying that finding someone to do that is not going to be as easy as one might think. Tell me again why Saban’s replacement, who even has Saban’s assistance if he wants it, just lost another game to an unranked team and has taken the Tide out of playoff contention? Why wouldn’t he just follow the success of possibly the greatest college football coach ever lived?
    • We've acknowledged having 2 HOF coaches hasn't been like most other schools. So why everyone jumps to the conclusion it wouldn't work here is beyond my comprehension. I see it carry over with these other hires. Gilmer, Aledo, North Shore, Austin Westlake. Next man up that continues the system in place has instant success. Matter fact there was 2 rookie HC that won the state championship the same year we handed over the keys. Same book. Same recipe. Better ingredients.
