Nope. I spoke to a UIL official a couple of years ago at state basketball tourney. That is not happening.

I can see HJ and Liberty exploring opting up to play on div 1 football because they have not been able to compete in their current district for some time. Not sure if opting up will help them but can’t blame the school, moral has to be low when it comes to their football programs.

I would of like to have been a fly on the wall when the conversation began about opting up. I bet some interesting things were said, all this district needs is more weak competition to prepare them for the playoffs

 usually you opt up because it helps to save money and etc and it makes sense you don’t opt up because you can’t compete

People won't like thier reason but its actually a good move. Kids these will jump ship if you lose in football and morale in the community goes down. 

Just look at WB.  20 kids transferred out in Aug last yr b/c of the losing.

Looks like lawn chairs will be needed because these stadiums are going to fill up fast. Liberty's visitor side is half the size of their home side which is  shown in first photo.  HJs visitor side will maybe hold a band and drill team and fans will need to bring chairs unless they've upgraded facilities.  Those 5 porta potties by the stands are gonna fill up with poo  rather quickly. They will get more concession sales, which may be their goal 🤣

I think HJ has no chance of breaking the top 4 in the district the way its configured.  

Marshall and Vin.  middle school isn't losing enough to push them up in the top 4.    IMO

That’s not the right answer. The right answer is you don’t know who “they” are, so you couldn’t know what their reason is and whether or not it’s a good reason. To quote @Majestyk, you talk like a man with a wooden neck.

Ha.. I never said who I thought it was.  Who ever is opting up is b/c the comp is less.  I haven't accused or named any teams.  But IMO that will be the motive. I see nothing wrong with the strategy.

Unless they don't have adequate facilities to accommodate the other teams fans . As long as it doesn't inconvenience anyone else then its okay

just seems it’s the easy way out, if it was to save money and budgeting purposes then I’m for it but to try and win more then I’m against because Hj has won in this district before with other head coaches
