Ty Cobb Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 The 1st half of the season could be very challenging for the RANGERS. 1. Looks like we lost out on resigning Montgomery. 2. Seager, Lowe, and Jung are all dealing with injuries. 3. deGrom, Scherzer and newly acquired Mahle will not be ready until the summer or later, which leaves us with no depth to the rotation. bullets13 Posted March 16 Report Posted March 16 Was hoping they’d sign a big name reliever and maybe trade for a starter. Might be a long shot to make the playoffs this year if we can’t stay afloat until everyone comes back. On a positive, Wyatt Langford has been absolutely raking in spring training. Quote

Ty Cobb Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Anyone have information about Michael Lorenzen? I'm not very familiar with him but it sounds like his career has been up and down. Is this a good addition? Quote

He's spent a good amount of time in his career as a long reliever, so when all of the injured pitchers return he may fill a valuable role in the bullpen. Career 40-38 record, 4.11 ERA. So basically an inning eater, but not a bad move by the rangers. Quote

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted March 29 Author Report Posted March 29 4-3 Rangers win the opener in extra innings! Quote
bullets13 Posted April 1 Report Posted April 1 LeClerc already proving himself to be a liability and the rangers are being punished for not going out and getting a real closer. That said, I’ll take winning the opening season of the year every year! Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Ty Cobb Posted April 2 Report Posted April 2 Josh Jung was hit by a pitch last night and fractured his wrist. Probably going to be the middle of May before he comes back. Quote

He'd been our best or second best hitter to start the season. pretty insane how stacked our lineup is even with him and Lowe out. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
Ty Cobb Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 Bradford pitched a gem last night in the 10-2 win over houston. 7.2 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 4 K’s, 0 walks Quote

Ty Cobb Posted April 7 Report Posted April 7 Gray had another bad outing. Hope he can figure things out. Quote
bullets13 Posted April 7 Report Posted April 7 Rangers beat Houston again as the nightmare start for the stros continues. I’m not mad. rupert3 1 Quote
Ty Cobb Posted April 15 Report Posted April 15 After the 16 games the RANGERS are 8-8. The pitching has been bad so far. The starters are only going 4 and 5 innings which leads to a over worked, already bad, bullpen. Can't wait for Lowe, Jung, and at least one pitcher to come of the IL. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted April 15 Author Report Posted April 15 Kinda reminds me of how last season started as far as winning games and pitching. Quote
Ty Cobb Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 Michael Lorenzen made his RANGERS debut Monday vs Detroit and pitched 5 scoreless innings. Jack Leiter is getting called up and will make his MLB debut Thursday. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
bullets13 Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 Leclerc has cost us 2-3 games already, and lost his closer spot already. The bright spot in the pen has been Kirby Yates. He took over the closer role this series and saved his first chance, then today when the rangers scored in the top of the 9th he shut down Detroit in the bottom of the 9th to get the win. He’s 2-0 on the year with a save, pitching 7.1 innings giving up only 1 hit so far with a 0.00 ERA. Hopefully he’s found the form he had for the Padres from 2017 to 2019. If so he could be elite.
