NedDog
I have never been to this stadium so I don't know but, just from looking at the picture, it appears as though if you turn on San Augustine (off Center St.), you will be at the front of the school, not the stadium. If you were to continue on Center St. down to W P Street, then that would get you in the stadium parking lot. Can anyone who has been there confirm or deny this? txstar
To get to the Deer Park stadium: go I-10 to 146, go south on 146 over the Ship Channel bridge, get in right lane and go West on 225, remain on 225 and exit Center Street, go South on Center street all the way down to San Augustine, you can turn right on San Augustine and the Campus is less than 1/4 mile on the left (the stadium is on the South side of the Campus), or continue on Center to, I believe P Street, and go west and it will run into the parking lot.orGo I-10 to BW8, go south on BW8 (will have a toll at foot of toll bridge), continue on BW8 to San Augustine and go East (left) on San Augustine and the South Campus is down on the right, the stadium is on the south side of the School. Home side is on the West side and Visitors on the east.Traffic is terrible on Center street in the evenings so leave early, it is about 70 miles. NedDog
All things being equal, which is the quickest way to get to Center Street . . . Hwy 146 to 225 or taking the Beltway?
BMTSoulja1
Avoid the Beltway. That is were the toll roads are!
NedDog
Avoid the Beltway. That is were the toll roads are!If it is 10-15 minutes faster, I won't mind paying.
BMTSoulja1
Follow 146 in from baytown. Take the Hwy 225 exit. Exit Center street all the way down to W. San Augustine street. I've been there 2 or 3 times and never had time or traffic issues. I would suggest this way than messing with that Beltway.
NedDog
More than likely, that is the route I'll take. Since I probalby won't be arriving there till 6:30 or so, I am hoping that traffic at that time won't be much of an issue.

NedDog
Hehehe...you and the other few hundred people trying to get there from work! Haha, true!! I guess I was referring to regular Houston traffic, not L-Train traffic!!
BMTSoulja1
...That would be one-way traffic...Rita traffic.
^Gusher Fan^
For real, I think we oughtta have 2 L-TRAIN convoys to the game: one for the Tailgate Party and one for the Raider's escort! We could meet up at Ford Park or something at a certain time. ???
MikeEast
I have been to this stadium a few times.. Its a little bit tricky when you get close but if you carefully follow the directions above you cannot miss it...I have always gone BW8 to get there. I might take 146 this time. bh89-2
You can avoid Baytown all together if you want and take the first exit after crossing the Trinity River/Olr River. Here is how:Take first exit off bridge and turn left.Go about 4-5 miles tunr left at 4-way stop (there will be a BBQ stand at the intersection)Go about 6-7 miles and turn Right on Hwy 99 (Mary Dunn Realty will be on left at this turn)Follow Hwy 99 until you dead end onto Old Hwy 146 (about 6-7 miles)Turn left on Hwy 99 and you will follow it over the Fred Hartman Bridge (Ship Channel)Turn Right on Hwy 225 and exit Center Street (about 4 miles)Turn left on Center streetTurn right on San Augustine Football parking down on left (park by a side road, man it's hard getting out of that parking lot). CATMAN
I live down here, go down i ten, and play the toll, you will be glad you did.--------2 dollars for the toll. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
SFA85
A bunch of cheap scapes. It's only 2 dollars to cross the bridge plus when you exit on 225 to LaPorte, you're only like 2 miles from the stadium. Just remember, if you don't see the Shell refinery when you exit, no matter the direction, you haven't gone far enough
bigred75
Amen I was thinking the same thing. Your gonna spend 20 bucks in gas to go over there, and you cant pay a 2 dollar toll???
NedDog
I am more concerned with saving a little time. Is one way noticably faster than the other?

SFA85
I am more concerned with saving a little time. Is one way noticably faster than the other?Believe it or not, taking the beltway is faster. There are lights on 146 until you get to the freeway part of it just before the bridge. And you must do the speed limit because it's loaded with speed traps. Take the beltway, when you exit, the next exit is 2 or 3 exits up if front of the Deer Park plant(Shell)
NedDog
Thanks. I knew 146 had a bunch of lights & reduced speeds, that is why I thought it might take a little longer, even though it is the more direct route. I had not even considered the speed traps. Thanks for the info.
BMTSoulja1
Most of those lights are set. It doesn't make you slow down that much. Not as much as that unpredictable I-10 traffic. Not cheap, 85. I'm about saving time also. and looking at the map, it may save gas too.
