Mr. Thornton Melon Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 It would be nice to see the Bobcats break free from the grasp of the Slot-T offense . Could use the entire field for a change and develop QB's and WRs Quote

Guitar Man Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Anyone who thinks Orangefield has the personnel to run the spread, and be successful is sadly mistaken. OF historically has been bad at running anything other than the Slot T. The Slot T helps when you don't have good lineman to protect a QB who is trying to read a defense to make a good throw. There are not many lineman bodies walking the halls of Orangefield so the Slot T is the way to go if you wanna continue to be successful in OF. You can't change my mind because OF saw instant success making the switch from the Pro I to the Slot T and they have been way more successful ever since then. setxathlete14 1 Quote

From 1956 to 2012, OF made 12 playoff appearances. In the last 10 years they've made 9 playoff appearances. So yeah, the slot-T has been an overwhelming success for the bobcats. setxathlete14, Bobcat1 and TxHoops 3 Quote

Lumberton probably has one of the worst football history’s in setx, They just won 11 games last year… LCM hasn’t been very good since the 90s and won 11 games 2 years ago? so “not feasible in most SETX” is one of the dumbest thing I ever heard on this board. Hahaha Speaking of dumb arguments... Lumberton has literally done this once in the last 17 years, and twice in their 60 year history. No it's not feasible for them to expect to do it again anytime soon. LCM managed it one year out of 25. Again, not particularly feasible. And this does in fact hold true for most area schools. Quote

PNG and WOS literally have nothing to do with anything in this discussion. Quote
