He has a son that is a going to be a freshman and is a QB. OF already has starting QB that started as a freshman last year. If they bring him in you know he would want his kid to be the QB. That would not sit well with the community because the freshman starter is very well liked by the players and community. OF community is very tight knitted. That’s probably a big reason they shied away from him.

Uhhhh the community wants wins and a coach who will put the kids in the best position to win. I didn't know positions were locked in regardless of who coaches especially after a not so good season.

That's an absurd excuse there 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Guess it's time to rollout some mailboxes in Orange County from Louisiana, I charge a monthly fee though. 😁

I don't blame you on the fee, a man has to do what he can to make money in this economy. You need to hit the Ned booster club president up, i am told that crew will pay top dollar for any advantages....

How many coaches does Breaux get to bring with him?

How many must he retain?

How good are the ones he will be forced to retain?

How good are the coaches he is going to be able to attract to Orangefield?

We are gonna have to consult our coach quality control specialist @Reagan for the proper answers to these questions. 😂

Welcome to the spread

I still haven’t figured out why OF fans are in such a hurry to run the spread lol. There are lots of really bad teams running the spread, & we won a ton of games with the Slot T over really good programs. The Slot T fit our athletes well. Parents with very little football knowledge hate On the Slot T all the time, I’ve lived in OF for over 40 years, go look at some of the records we had before the Slot T, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. I hope we go 10-0 next year but LCM hasn’t exactly been world beaters. I’m optimistic but I’m also realistic, and I feel the Slot T was very good for OF.

I played with the best passer in OF history as far as stats go (not granger). But we passed out of a Pro Style, power I based formation

Slot T beat Newton back to back years, can’t wait to see them try to run 5 wide against a Newton caliber team.

The fact that you keep calling them "Gilmer Harmony" tells me all I need to know. Go look at the records, strikingly similar to Orangefield over the past several years. With the exception of the State Title appearance and deep playoff runs they've had in the last two years. Wonder what the difference was in those 2 years?

They never made it to state at Harmony.  Lost in the semis to Poth.  Harmony has had good athletes over the years and has well over a .500 winning percentage before Jenkins got there.  So please don’t act like or think you know that he had to turn a downtrodden program around in his 2 years there.  They had a loaded senior class this year, that was the catalyst for their long run last year.

You must never have watched this guy call offense.  Even at WB he had a tight end on the field majority of the time and then at LCM played w/ 2 tight ends a lot and was run heavy.  Everyone thinks the spread is Air Raid.  In reality the base of it is spread triple option. Breaux has shown his offense is adaptable year to year based on his personnel.

Yes.  But Vidor’s history of hiring coaches may have been the problem.  Just say!

At this point I think you're trolling or never played competitive sports at any level of real competition....

My brother is Christ - there's no coach on planet Earth that can take Vidor from any era and beat Northshore. Do you have a Bachelor's degree? If you do, go try to coach ball at any school for just a few weeks and you will realize how much goes into it.

There is speed in OF to stretch the field and create space, i'm just most worried about the OLine. IF they can get a solid ground game going, I can foresee a good dose of quick game/RPO style offense to help the OLine. I don't foresee a whole lot of 3 step drop back and let er' rip. I think some people have a misconception of the spread just being a "slinging it deep". OF could make some money on short/Intermediate routes. You would be surprised how many simple bubble/slant/hitch routes turn into TDs because of one missed tackle. Lumberton for example lives off the short/intermediate passing game and getting the ball into the hands of their studs in space. The more I think about it, the more excited I get to see what the orange and white can do in the spread.

He should quickly learn that his personnel is better suited for running a football then.

    • naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!
    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McnNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
