I would think so, he's been in the college ranks on and off, for a while

College ranks at Lamar? I don't see where else he coached.

I'm shocked we passed on Jenkins.

Yes and assistant HC...And LCM will feel the pain from this loss. He carried ALOT of weight towards lcms success. You never heard alot other than people there and in the system. Peevys right hand man

Orangefield got the right guy. He brings intensity. With all due respect in my opinion an upgrade to Smalley. I am truly excited for my cross town friends.

It states that he wasn't actually a coach at Lamar.  The question that begs to be asked:  If he's this good, how does he end up as an assistant coach at a 4A school?!  And how does OF not pick the Harmony coach?  Usually when something like this happens there's some insider dealings going.  Not saying there is.  But one has to wonder.

So he was the main reason for the LCM 6-5 success over the past 2 years?

3 winning seasons in a row, first time in school history. Has that ever been done at OF either?? What's your realistic expectations? "Can't win a Kentucky derby with a mule."

I don't think he was staying at LCM for next season regarless if he got the OF job or not.

This thread will be something to look back on if Orangefield goes spread & goes 6-4 or better in the regular season.

They're going shotgun formation for sure. And qb has to be able to run and pass.

In a district so bad Liberty, HJ, and BC all want in.

Not necessarily “so bad” they all want in. Probably more like the lesser of 2 evils (insert references to the presidential race if you wish).

I here some people say Slot-T teams lack QBs and receivers so they have to stay in that style of offense. You'll never develop QBs and WRs if you don't pass the ball . It doesn't hurt to evolve as a team or at least try. Best of luck to the Bobcats

Glad Franklin has not "evolved as a team".

I don’t think it’s that big of a loss.  That system has been in place for 3 years now so shouldn’t be hard to continue with different style of Off leadership.

Not talking about Franklin, this is an Orangefield thread.

So, which teams is it good to "evolve as a team"? by passing more? Maybe OF wants to "evolve as a team" like "Franklin "evolved as a team", Without passing more.

Or............  maybe they don't give a rats  buttocks about Franklin, like me.

You don't see me getting angry about you not liking certain offenses but it really gets under your skin about what offenses I do or do not prefer. God gave us each our own  brain  so we could think for ourselves and  form our own ideals, a gift that should be appreciated and not taken for granted.  I was around your style of offensive play for about 15 years and at one time I loved it but now I don't. It's no big deal to me what you think.
