KFDM COOP Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=19060068&BRD=2287&PAG=461&dept_id=583964&rfi=6La Vega sophomore Chris Parr rushed 23 times for 109 yards and caught two passes for 97 yards in his team's 40-13 area-round victory over Crockett last week. "He's a tough runner; he's a good receiver," Hooks said of Parr, who has 1,609 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. "He caught a screen pass against Crockett that really broke their back early in the game, so we've got to do something about him." Williams said Wilson effectively fakes handoffs and then throws downfield. Hooks said Dennis and Gloston will need to remain committed to receivers so the rest of the WO-S defense can focus on Parr. "They're not an option team and that helps," Hooks said. "Teams that run the option make you play assignment football. These teams are running more sweeps and stuff where you can see the ball and it's just a matter of doing something about it."
skipper Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 STAY ON YOUR FEET WO-S (DEFENSE) NOT ON YOUR BACK HARD NOSE MUSTANG FOOTBALL
bullets13 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 The 'Stangs have already beaten #1, so I don't see why they can't beat #6. Good luck boys!
stang4life Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Great advice. Just play Chain-gang defense and execute offensively and we should be fine. Don't worry about rankings and shut down their offensive weapons!!! Mustangs pull it out by >0!!!! ;D
skipper Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 waco la vega will be the first to tell you that the sports writter did not know what they are talking about by puting (GIDDINGS)as the #1 team in the state. the way they see it is thay have best defense in the state and the best running back you will ever see .and like one of the cats fron waco la vega said look at all the points thay put up every game thats becouse (NO ONE) stops the parr brothers NO ONE. and to end this story JUST LOOK AT WHO THAY HAVE PLAYED PS sorry for the spelling
tam2121 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 That's the key thing that Hooks said. Dennis and Gloston need to stay with the receiver. I don't care if he runs to the bathroom, you need to be sitting in the stall next to him. ;D
