Hemphill is open

They are just starting to interview 12 candidates Monday. Not sure how many applied.

The problem with Hemphill seems to be a major exit in high school enrollment. Snapshot number went from 273 down to 221. A drop of 52 kids. Hemphill lost their JV team in the middle of the year, had to combine with varsity. Even going to class 2A1 you need a JV program. Hopefully they have a large 8 th grade moving up. 
Would like to know the reason for the big drop in high school. Hemphill is a good place to live and the school has money.    
Hemphill just lost a good coach.

I’m hearing it might be someone from Kirbyville, Newton, or a former coach from beckville. Just a guess on what I was told.

There was a Hicks coaching at Garrison that use to coach at Newton. Good coach and very good Christian man. I think he coached under W T Johnston. May not be the same person though.
