AggiesAreWe Posted January 28 Author Report Posted January 28 One may question the LC-M/Vidor game as a "marquee" game on Tuesday night with both teams district records under .500. I see this game as a "playoff" type game as the loser of this one is likely out of playoff contention in 19-4A. Not mathematically out but will have to have some help from other teams to make playoffs. So this one is crucial to both teams. Games I will be attending this week: Tuesday Pollok Central at Hemphill Wednesday Summer Creek at Beaumont United Friday Corrigan-Camden at San Augustine Saturday Beaumont United vs. Beaumont West Brook Orangefield at East Chambers Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

Hemphill needs the win to stay in playoff contention. Also, this was just a 1 point win (55-54) for Central at home the first time they played. Game will be in Hemphill and Central will obviously be down a player. Personally, I want to see both teams to add to my total for the season. Haven't seen these two yet. Quote

This is a weird district for sure, after seeing Huntington play both teams I can make since of that 1 point game! Central is a very well rounded team with great shooting from deep. Hemphill has one athlete that is allowed to chunk up the ball from anywhere with no restraint! Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted January 29 Author Report Posted January 29 Has anyone ever ate at The Feed Store Cafe in Hemphill? Wondering if it's any good and is still open for business. Going to Hemphill tomorrow night for basketball game. Quote

JimThorpe Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 LCM and Vidor are 2 back of Lumberton and 3 back of WOS so they're a long shot. But the loser is definitely out of it. LCM is a total puzzle to me. The contrast in the back to back Silsbee games at LCM and BC is stark. The game in Mauriceville looked like a third round playoff game. It reminded me a little of Silsbee's 3rd round win against Jacksonville last year at SFA. In Bridge City the final was 104-55 but the game wasn't really that close with the Tigers scoring a mere 10 pts in the 4th. Clearly the Tigers were flat against the Bears and Harris got into early foul trouble. To me though that doesn't explain it. Matchups are funny things. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted February 1 Author Report Posted February 1 Friday, Feb. 2 Kingwood Park (4-2) at Lufkin (6-0) Nederland (7-3) at Port Arthur Memorial ( 8-2) Livingston (5-4) at Hamshire-Fannett (7-1) Huffman (7-1) at Hardin-Jefferson (5-4) Woodville (5-5) at Pollok Central (10-0) Anahuac (7-3) at Kountze (10-0) Crockett (7-3) at Onalaska (6-4) Corrigan-Camden ( 8-1) at San Augustine ( 8-0) Big Sandy (3-3) at West Hardin (3-3) Saturday, Feb. 3 Beaumont United (7-3) at Beaumont West Brook (7-3) CE King (4-6) at Summer Creek (6-4) Orangefield (9-1) at East Chambers (5-5) With OF/EC game being moved to Saturday, gives me another game to attend this week. C-C/SA game Friday night will be a good one. United/WB will be for sole 2nd in 21-6A. Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

The Lake Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 HJ vs Huffman will be interesting. HJ played them close in the first matchup and seems to be playing much better the last few games. Wouldn't be shocked if HJ wins. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
