KFDM COOP Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASENovember 28, 2007Lamar State Seahawks face Southern University-Shreveport on FridayThe Lamar State College-Port Arthur men's basketball team travels toShreveport on Friday for a 7 p.m. game against SouthernUniversity-Shreveport.The Seahawks are 4-7 after losing to Navarro College (84-47) andAngelina College (79-74) at last weekend's Angelina Roadrunner ClassicTournament in Lufkin. Lamar State still is without the services of freshman guard JasonWilliamson, who broke his hand and has missed the last seven games. Headcoach Don Bryson expects Williamson to be back in the lineup after the firstof the year. Sophomore guard Noah Cole from Vidor continues to lead the Seahawksin scoring with 16.1 points per game. Navarro held Cole to just six points,marking only the second time this season that he didn't score in doublefigures. Cole came back the next night to lead the Seahawks with 20 pointsagainst Angelina.The Southern-Shreveport Port City Jags won the Louisiana AthleticAssociation of Community Colleges championship in 2007 and are 2-1 againstjunior college teams this fall.Lama State closes its fall schedule with a Dec. 8 home matchup withMontgomery College in the Carl Parker Center.The Seahawks return to action Jan. 7 with one more tune-up game athome against Southern U-Shreveport.Lamar State begins Metro Athletic Conference play Jan. 9 at CedarValley College in Lancaster.
