baddog Posted August 11 Report Posted August 11 Series win against the Red Sox. Alvarez almost got his 4th 3-HR game by inches. rupert3 1 Quote

Pitch count was 90 but you ask him how how feels, he will say ok, and you rest your BP. His 2 hits were HRs but I consider them 2 mistake pitches. Decisions like this are probably why I’m not a manager. Quote
rupert3 Posted August 11 Author Report Posted August 11 Nice 10-2 6 hit Sweep. 3 Dingers. Hunter Brown 9 Ks in 6 innings. Always nice to beat Red Sox. Ninth innig looked like a slow pitch softball game but we couldn't hit 45-52 mph pitch lol. Pena did hit a double off of an Efuss pitch. Quote
A BUC 77 Posted August 12 Report Posted August 12 They are rolling now. Can't wait to get Verlander and Tucker back. Quote
rupert3 Posted August 12 Author Report Posted August 12 Looks like we gonna have to take care of the Mariners at the close of the season. Hopefully they will start losing soon. Quote
rupert3 Posted August 13 Author Report Posted August 13 Great 4 hit Valdez 6-1 win 9Ks Now 6 straight and 1/2 up. Nice little win Quote
rupert3 Posted August 14 Author Report Posted August 14 Nice 3-2 win for 7 straight. Hader 26 saves. Mariners lose to igers 15-1. Back to full game up Quote

baddog Posted August 14 Report Posted August 14 Pressley always seems to make it interesting. Bregman with 4 HRs in 4 straight games Quote

Pressley worries me. Abreu and Hader not so much. Thank the Lord for Alex Bregman. He on fire at the plate and remains rock solid at 3B. I hope its not too premature to get excited about Bregman and Alvarez both staying red hot and mashing BOMBS! Quote

Neris got fired up doing his job. I liked that. Pressley seems to always load the bases when he should be mowing them down. Well, we still won the game, but it could have been easily lost on Pressley, but I guess that’s baseball. Look for Alvarez to have a good game today. Quote
BEARCPA Posted August 14 Report Posted August 14 I've never felt comfortable with Pressley outside of his insane hot streak in the 2022 postseason. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 Astros with a 2-1 extra inning win to get to 10 games over .500 (65-55). Houston with just 2 hits in those 10 innings. Pitching is definitely carrying this team the last month baddog 1 Quote
baddog Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 My boy Duboń comes through with the game winning hit. 🧹 of the Rays is complete. Leon needs to attend sliding practice. Quote
rupert3 Posted August 15 Author Report Posted August 15 What a weird game 2 hits each 8th straight win. Mariners lose in 10 so 2 1/2 up on them. Pena Dinger was the only lead and hit for almost the whole game. Nice win I'll take it. Quote
rupert3 Posted August 15 Author Report Posted August 15 Mariners lose today we now 3 games up. Who would have thought 2 months ago. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 Just now, rupert3 said: Mariners lose today we now 3 games up. Who would have thought 2 months ago. From 10 games down to 3 games up. Since starting the season 12-24, Astros have gone an MLB best 53-31. A .631 win percentage. rupert3 1 Quote

Exactly why I didn’t like the Kikuchi trade, but he has done well. I guess I like winning with what I’ve got and develop my future players. I must be losing my mind. There is no way of knowing if the Kikuchi wins could have been won without him. I’m happy where we are in the rankings. rupert3 1 Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted August 16 Report Posted August 16 Bregman out today (elbow swelling) and Astros announce he's available to the media. Not a called press conference, just available to media. Weird communication. ????? Astros and communication, oxymoron? rupert3 1 Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted August 16 Report Posted August 16 Claim is he needs a few days off. He spoke to media. Just strange after a call up early in the day with no corresponding roster move yet announced. Houston sports radio had all kinds of speculation and still some skepticism. Who knows? Quote
