myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 18-6 final. Hesseltine goes the full 7 with 109 pitches. Speculating here...he likely would not have gone out for the 7th if it wasn't for the need to save pitching. Face the Pokes at 4. Quote
spidersal Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 Hopefully a win this afternoon and again in the morning to get to the championship game Also hope the team that gets to the finals has to go to the same process as Lamar Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 Lamar is hitting some massive home runs. Balls are clearing the secondary wall (doubke decker) with room to spare. 8-5 after 3 and 1/2. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 McNeese playing big fly too. 8-8 after 4. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 Clean inning for both sides. Still all 8's after 5. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 LU turns a 2-5-3 double play on a bunt attempt followed by a strike out. 8's headed to 7th. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 10-8 headed to bottom of the 7th. McNeese is bringing relievers with high ERA's. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 10-9 as Pokes get an opposite field homer with 2 outs. Headed to 8th. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 Sacks jammed with no outs after a walk, double, and an intentional pass. Skinner at plate. Time to get greedy!! Quote

myrecordwashorrible Posted May 25 Report Posted May 25 Headed for 9 up by 9 with hopes of playing tomorrow at 9. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 25 Report Posted May 25 Winner. Await the outcome of SELA and Nicholls game to know tomorrow's game time. Quote
spidersal Posted May 25 Report Posted May 25 The Cardinals are fighting like crazy after their 1st game loss. A win against McNeese tomorrow puts them in the championship game. Way to go Lamar, keep pounding the ball and hope pitchers can survive myrecordwashorrible 1 Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted May 25 Report Posted May 25 Birds play Pokes at 1 as Nicholls sits waiting for the finals. SELA played Nicholls tough in both games of the tournament, but lost each by 1 run. So, if LU gets to finals they will be playing their 6th game and Nicholls will be playing their 4th. Can Johnny Wholestaff hold up and the bats keep rolling? Go Cards! Extra Base Eagle 1 Quote

Can Johnny Wholestaff hold up and the bats keep rolling? Go Cards! Yes, for sure the bats need to keep rolling. I don't know if either McNeese or Nicholls has one of their better pitchers "stashed" back to pitch in these games. Not sure either how we will go about using our staff. These tournament series often end up in a game similar to last night when all the pitching has been used up. Reminds me of game 5 of the 2017 World Series when Houston beat Los Angeles 13-12 in ten innings. myrecordwashorrible 1 Quote
