bullets13 Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 This team might have 4-peated if they’d stayed in 5A. Still pretty amazing what they’ve done after moving up a classification BADSANTA, lil brother, ace2335 and 3 others 6 Quote
Tigers94 Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 They got a shot assuming Dotson is playing. Stony Point needed a miracle last second 3 to make it. Plano East is probably the favorite, but anything can happen in one game when the pressure is on. BU has the experience in big games like this. desethion 1 Quote
united we stand Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 Without Kade Dotson they are going to struggle, the same thing happened with Central being the favorite and they lost their best player in a injury in regional final and lost the state semi , they will play hard but without the leader it will be difficult. TxHoops Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 By the way, how many coaches in our coverage area have gone to 4 state tournaments in a row? We praise certain coaches in this area (and not undeservingly) but some of us act like it’s just making substitutions for Green and Sigler. Those guys are both no brainer hall of famers who deserve to be at the top of any list you want to make regarding basketball coaches in this area or the state. panther blue, BMTSoulja1, no-look and 3 others 6 Quote

Boutte is in this rarified air. Particularly those Lincoln years. Green is pretty special in the fact he has taken 4 different teams to the state tourney, winning 3. Four straight regional championships, looking for their 4th straight state title game, puts United at the top of the hill. Since Sigler came back to Silsbee in 2012, the Tigers know nothing other than being regional favorites. These last 13 seasons under him have been some of the most successful years that any team would want to have. 11 regional tournaments, 10 regional finals, 5 regional championships, 3 state finals, 2 state championships. If the prognosticators are right, Silsbee will play in their 4th state title game in last 9 seasons. (some say they played the title game against FF in 2022, so that would make 5). These two coaches resumes are second to none. BTW, I love the fact that Silsbee is a part of both of these coaches career. TxHoops, BADSANTA and BMTSoulja1 2 1 Quote

Talked to his mom last night. Hoping he can play, but it’s gonna be tough. At least it’s his non-shooting hand, but both hands are a big part of his game Quote

Toe Toe got hurt in the State semi-final game. He had 8 points in the first 4 minutes before going down. Nijal Pearson played a hell of a game as a freshman that night to keep Central in it down to the wire. If they would’ve snuck past Kimball they would’ve won’t it. Central brought back all 5 starters and still missed out on the state tournament due to how good Ozen was the next season. One of the best seasons of Beaumont Basketball that year with Central and Ozen going wire to wire as 1,2, or 3 with Lancaster all season. BADSANTA and BMTSoulja1 2 Quote

BADSANTA Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 We are living in the Golden Ages of SETX basketball. I dont know a time in history where you've had Silsbee and Beaumont make it to state so often. I think Ozen and Kountze went together a time or 2. Silsbee and United both made it 2 years ago. San Antonio will be packed with families from the 409. lil brother, BMTSoulja1, TxHoops and 1 other 4 Quote
