He took the starting job for the fifth game of the season and guided Dayton to wins in its final six District 22-4A games.Now he and the Broncos are 3-0 in the playoffs and riding a nine-game win streak into the fourth round of the postseason.“Every game he quarterbacked on the junior varsity (in 2006), he won,†Dayton coach Jerry Stewart adds. “Every game we won, he won.â€So what would Charles be doing if junior Cody Green hadn’t gotten hurt in Dayton’s second game this season?“Cody still would have been quarterbacking,†Stewart says of the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Green, who has already had scholarship offers from Miami, Texas A&M, Houston and Baylor, according to the coach.“But things have a way of working out.â€.......................................

Mike George Posted December 7, 2007 Report Posted December 7, 2007 There is a very good reason he played JV QB. He came in from New Orleans after losing his home in the flood and was at Dayton his firrst year as a junior. He had to be "seasoned" a bit. Worked, didn't it?
liltex Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 MORE TO THE STORY THAN MEETS THE EYE.tHE CHARLES FAMILY OWNED THEIR NEW ORLEANS HOME THAT WAS SEV.DAMAGED DURING KATRINA.THEY RELOCATED TO DAYTON AND LOVED THE SMALL TOWN ATMOSPHERE THEY DECIDED TO LIVE HERE,RETURNED TO REPAIR & SELL THEIR HOME IN LOUISIANA.GREGORY THEN WAS ILL EARLY THIS YEAR & CODY WENT DOWN W/LEG INJURY.FOOTBALL HISTORY FROM THERE.IF MY MEMORY RECALLS COACH STEWART TOOK 4A CLEBURNE,SO.OF FT.WORTH TO THE PLAYOFFS AND A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SEVERAL TIMES & NOW HAS THE BRONCOS IN THE HUNT FOR GLORY.THEY HAVE MADE HISTORY ALREADY,TIME TO PUT THE ICING ON THE CAKE.GO BRONCOS
