Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Lamar, who snapped a five-game losing streak in Tuesday's 95-59 win over St. Gregory's, is 2-5 on the season. Saturday's game is Blue Santa night in conjunction with the Port Arthur Police Department. Anyone who brings a toy to the ticket window can purchase a ticket for just $5. The toys will be distributed to area families in need for the holidays. LC, who has lost two straight, is 1-4 on the season. The Wildcats are coming off a 106-83 loss at Concordia (Texas) on Saturday. This will be the sixth meeting between Lamar and LC with the Cardinals holding a 5-0 all-time series advantage. Lamar is 4-0 at home and 1-0 in Pineville, La. The Cardinals won last year's meeting, 91-76, on Jan. 1, 2007. Junior Kenny Dawkins leads the team and ranks sixth in the SLC in scoring at 15.4 points per game. He has scored in double-figures in each of the last five games. He is shooting 46.1 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from three-point range and 88.9 percent from the free throw line, which ranks fourth in the SLC. A 5-9 guard from Holly Springs, Miss., Dawkins leads the team in assists with 26, which ranks 10th in the SLC (3.71 apg) and in steals with 13, which ranks seventh in the SLC (1.86). Junior Justin Nabors, who scored a season-high 19 points in the win over St. Gregory's, is second on the team in scoring at 10.9 ppg. He is second on the team in rebounding at 7.3 rpg (8th in SLC) and is shooting 56.1 percent from the field (11th in SLC). Senior Lamar Sanders is averaging 9.3 ppg and leads the team in rebounding at 7.7 rpg (7th in SLC). He is shooting 56.8 percent from the field (9th in SLC) and is second on the team in assists (15) and steals (10). Junior Lawrence Nwevo leads the team in field goal percentage at .629 (3rd in SLC). Lamar is averaging 74.9 ppg and is shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 30.3 percent from 3-point range and 71.4 percent from the free throw line. The Cardinals have a plus-1.7 scoring margin and a plus-0.7 rebound margin. Josh Johnson leads LC in scoring at 15.2 ppg. He is shooting 39 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from 3-point range and 81.8 percent from the free throw line. Morey Skluzacek is second on the team in scoring at 10.8 ppg and is shooting 52.8 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from 3-point range. Daniel Greenhouse is the only other Wildcat averaging double-figures at 10.0 ppg. LC is averaging 71.6 ppg and is shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 38.8 percent from 3-point range and 76.7 percent from the free throw line.
