Good news for Lamar, after 40 years of no growth, Beaumont is growing again

For the first time in more than 40 years, the population of Beaumont is growing....

1970 census BMT pop. 119,000

1980....118,000

1990...115,000

2000...113,800

2004 est... 112,000

2005 est... 109,000

2006 est... 117,000

This growth is just the beginning...

2007 est will be released in June..

I predict 122,000...

This growth will affect Lamar.

I still predict an increase of 3000-5000 at Lamar by 2012..

Remember, Lamar stop growing at the sametime Beaumont stop growing.

According to KFDM live, 1 construction job spinoff 5-7 other jobs. So 15,000 * 5 = 75,000.

We could easily see a population increase by 35,000 over the next 5 years. 440,000 MSA population

would be very good for LU.
