AggiesAreWe Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 If you notice, the poll is still with the Dec. 10 issue. I believe the tabc poll goes on hiatus through the holidays and then picks back up in January.
Master T Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 I'm not trying to complaain but I don't understand why Silsbee is still isn't on here. It been over a month of b-ball season and SIlsbee has yet faced some good team and have a record of 11-2. With not many experienced players they are doing quite well. Why isn't they getting any respect.

bleacher_bum Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Wow, Newton should keep moving up, they are tearing it up right now.

basketball fanatic08 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 i cant understand why brookeland isnt on there i cant see how the four teams they beat are ahead of them
bleacher_bum Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Congrats to HD for finally being recognized. Breaking the top 20 at #19. Its a start.Congrats Newton, still moving up.
Bobcat1 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Ozen HJ and Newton the only 3 around here?
CATMAN Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 HD STAY 1 WEEK @ # 19 ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
CATMAN Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I THING THE 3 TEAMS IN DIST.IN 24 A ARE JUST AS GOOD AS THE 3 IN DIST 19A ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
AggiesAreWe Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Again, I just don't understand why Silsbee is not in the top 20. They would beat alot of those teams that are in. A 19-5 record with all 5 of those losses coming from state ranked teams should get you some consideration. Look at Gonzales, they are 11-13 for crying out loud.

omgshoes Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 HJ (full strength) beat Silsbee by 18 HJ (minus Trey Burrell) lost to Silsbee by 2.
STiger85 Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 HJ (full strength) beat Silsbee by 18 HJ (minus Trey Burrell) lost to Silsbee by 2. Silsbee (minus two players) still beat HJ by 2.
omgshoes Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 HJ (full strength) beat Silsbee by 18 HJ (minus Trey Burrell) lost to Silsbee by 2. Silsbee (minus two players) still beat HJ by 2. Silsbee (minus two BENCH players) beat HJ (without one of its best players) by 2.
CraigS Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 HJ (full strength) beat Silsbee by 18 HJ (minus Trey Burrell) lost to Silsbee by 2. Silsbee (minus two players) still beat HJ by 2. Silsbee (minus two BENCH players) beat HJ (without one of its best players) by 2. Not going to get into this again except to make sure facts are stated.......#40 is a starter (approx 10 ppg) #30 (I think) yes bench player, however he scored 18 including four of six 3's (approx 10 ppg) maybe HJ wins maybe not......but they weren't both BENCH players, and the other provides plenty of scoring off the bench!
AggiesAreWe Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I finally have come to the conclusion that Silsbee is the Rodney Dangerfield of boys high school basketball. NO RESPECT!!!! How can they not be in the top 20 state polls? 21-5, just beat the then #3 ranked team, all their losses were to state ranked teams at that time. These polls are a joke!
Guest tigersvoice Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 But the pollsters seem to love Gonzales - they're playing .500 ball (just a shade above) and are ranked. I agree that this seems RANK!
Silsbee92 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 HJ (full strength) beat Silsbee by 18 HJ (minus Trey Burrell) lost to Silsbee by 2. Regardless, this will come down again (Most Likely) to the Regional Finals. Give respect to both teams and enjoy the success that this district has every year in the playoffs. When, and I DO BELIEVE when, Silsbee wins state, the polls will start favoring them like they do these other programs. Silsbee has been so close many times and has never brought it home. They are due. Of course, once again, this is only my opinion. Chew on it.
