It’s not a hack, it’s spam.  Unless you click on one of the links you should be fine.  They aren’t really hiding the fact that it’s spam posts either.

Are they able to gain access to the forum and post the spam as a guest (non-member)?

Thanks, that's what I would've thought. So it seems like it is hacking and not just spam; therefore, anyone's information is vulnerable. No different than anywhere else, I suppose. Probably need to figure out some increased security with the login authentication procedure and the firewall though.
