I thought they were doing the whole field? I guess they'll do the oufield after the season. I know $950,000 had been set aside for the new synthetic turf. I believe this project is about $250,000. I assume the rest of the money is for the outfield.

Did they get the money sooner than expected?  I thought this was planned for a few years from now.  Same with Cardinal Stadium, I thought renovations were planned for 2009.  I get the feeling LU is trying to update it's facilities faster than originally planned.

Lamar has been approved for the following projects:

A new softball stadium, at a cost of $1.2 million, in 2009

A new fieldhouse for soccer, softball and baseball, at a cost of $3.5 million, in 2009

Renovations to Cardinal Stadium, at a cost of $6.5 million, in 2009

Replacement of Higgins Fieldhouse, at a cost of $3.6 million, in 2009

Installation of synthetic turf at Vincent-Beck Stadium, at a cost of $950,000, in 2009

Renovations to Vincent-Beck Stadium, at a cost of $5 million, in 2012
