I’m confused that Conservative Christian Right-wing Republican straight white American male family first Trump voters are ignoring the fact that Trump did, in fact, do that awful thing…. But are instead focused on the fact that he’s being accused of covering it up. There’s obviously no decency or morality in MAGA. But they still believe themselves to be exactly that… the side of decency and morality. It would be funny if the stakes weren’t so high. Did you elevate yourself to this level of judgmental superiority after the first or second time you voted for Trump? baddog 1 Quote
Englebert Posted April 25 Report Posted April 25 I'm glad Trump is the nominee and future president. I think one of our most pressing crisis right now is the corruption in our goverenment (FBI, DOJ, IRS, etc) and in the Democrat party. They have sunk to banana republic tactics, and if nothing is done, they will continue these methods. Imprisoning and bankrupting political opponents should not and cannot be tolerated. These things can and will topple a great nation. I don't know if Trump will go after the Demcrats and the goverment agencies that have gone after him, but he definitely has the motive to do it. I don't think any of the other Republican candidates would seek justice against these anti-Americans. As a bonus, Trumps policies have been shown to be a great boon for our country (and nobody on here can prove that to be wrong). I fear that without retribution to what the Democrats have done, this country is on a speedy and unstoppable downward spiral. I think my hatred of what the Democrats have done to our country is greater than the hatred CardinalBacker has for Trump. Well, I shouldn't get carried too far away. Quote

Surely you're aware of the great lengths Trump has gone to disrupt the elections and destroy the careers of republican politicians who haven't supported some of his most outlandish claims, or dared to question him or disagree with him about January 6. You and I actually agree on this issue, although it must only go one way for you, because Trump's actions against republicans who didn't fall into lockstep with him is one of my biggest concerns about reelecting him. The fact that he took action to affect literally hundreds of republican primaries from national elections down to municipal levels across the country, is concerning. It would've been one thing had he done it in an effort to help republicans win. Instead his purpose was to push out his perceived detractors and install MAGA politicians at every level of government in as many places as possible, and has resulted in a fractured republican party. Both sides...that is, everyone tries to get their people elected. Trump has not weaponized the government to bankrupt and imprison his political opponents. Night and day difference for me. There is a difference, but I wouldn't at all put it past Trump to do so if he had the infrastructure in place to get away with it like the Dems currently do. With the amount of effort he's invested in ruining those republicans who've opposed him, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Quote

Now, I hope and pray he appoints people that will investigate, charge, and imprison anyone found guilty of the crimes against him...including treason. I would be all for a special task force charged solely with the task of investigating crimes against Trump. Of course the Democrats will be screaming bloody murder that Trump is weaponizing the government against them. We all know the story. From a cursory standpoint, there seems to be a plethora of evidence to lock up many Democrats for a long time. Unless this is done, I see no end to destruction of our political system...and this country. baddog and LumRaiderFan 2 Quote

I’m more concerned about the current, but nothing about the way trump has acted towards republicans who have “crossed him” leads me to believe that he won’t do everything he can to get back at people. He can’t run again if he wins, and he seems more unhinged than 8 years ago, so I don’t know what’ll stop him. I guess if he wins we’ll find out. Quote

My understanding is that he’s being charged with falsifying business records regarding the payment of money to Stormy Daniels. Something along the line of Pecker paying her the hush money, then Trump reimbursed Pecker claiming that it was business deductible payments to Cohen… I think at some point it was questioned as to whether Trump illegally used campaign funds to buy her silence. Or something along those lines. I honestly don’t care to learn the specifics because I think that this particular prosecution is bogus, unless it led to tax fraud of some sort. A bigger question is why Trump bothered to try and kill the story when his good “Christian” followers don’t care how immoral he is. Y’all need to repent for supporting that godless man. Quote

Can you stand up to the scrutiny? If we laugh at you, does that make us morally inferior? baddog 1 Quote
