Separation Scientist Posted June 10 Report Posted June 10 Inflation Since January 2021: 1. Eggs: 49.3% 2. Gasoline: 47.8% 3. Airfare: 32.7% 4. Electricity: 29.3% 5. Natural Gas: 26.9% 6. Over the last 5 years, the purchasing power of a US Dollar has declined by 23%. Money from 2019 is now worth almost ONE FOURTH LESS today. For Democrats who can't understand this, if your life savings is $100,000, its now worth $75,000 due to JOE BIDEN. LumRaiderFan 1 Quote

No offense, but Democrats aren't typically savers. My theory is this... if Democrats can't tax away the earnings/savings of others, then they can eliminate their wealth so that we're all equally worthless. Broke is broke, whether or not you have or don't have an account full of worthless dollars. "If I can't have what you have, then I don't want you to have it, either" mentality. Quote

And a lot of them believe that housing is a right. While you and I might worry about property tax increases, folks in subsidized (or even government housing) don't care very much. It's why voters in PAISD who rent will approve any bond that comes their way- an increase in property taxes doesn't affect them, at least in their own minds. Another key demographic that doesn't care about the increased cost of housing is the elderly... many of whom own their homes outright or have no intentions of ever relocating. People who own their homes outright don't care so much about the cost of home ownership... interest rates don't matter, and their net worth grows with every increase in housing prices. Who DOES care about those costs are people who are living beyond their means and can't afford to get a fresh home equity loan to cover their unsecured debt because they can't afford the new payment that will result from the increased principal and higher interest rates. Those people are drowning. Everyone's situation is different. Quote
