I did some homework. Other factors are things like coaching, tradition, or how good the guys replacing the the players lost will be

I go to pigskinprep.com. That gives you all the all district players for all the teams in texas. It tells you the grade they are in. The all district person who is a senior will obviously be a starter that will not be back. You can figure the starters that you lose. Not perfect but it gets you close.

Or after the magazine comes out it does it for you.

I don't know what's in that magazine other than what I've seen on this site. The information is available from several other sources way before the magazine comes out

Looking at rosters, seeing who the key players were and how many are returning.

If you are talking about Maxpreps, I now understand your way of thinking. SMH

So you actually have reviewed all of the Region III 3A DII team rosters? Impressive. You should get paid.

I've looked at the majority of the top teams. Some on Maxpreps. Some from other sources.

Please breakdown your top 10 Region III team by team. Returning starters, lost starters, etc.

Really curious as to the order you have each team ranked.

The problem with “some” (notice I said some) Woodville fans is that they think since they’ve had some success since the Zack Martin days they should be included in the elites of 3A.  With all those athletes Woodville pretty much underachieved between Melvin Houston’s teams to the Zach Martin team.  Now they have become “SETX good”..but SETX good doesn’t mean a whole lot when compared to the rest of the state, especially when you factor in their performance in the playoffs….String together some district titles and some 3 and 4 round deep playoff runs and you’ll start getting the respect you think you deserve.

I already gave my top 10. I don't have time to do a breakdown. We'll just have to wait and see how things turn out

Just curious as to how you came to rank each team individually?

But since you don't have time to back up your ranking, then maybe one should not be so critical of someone else's ranking.

Or we can wait and see how it plays out

I like how under each team in the preseason rankings they put a quote about the team… thought I’d share what was said for the region 3 teams

Bellville

The word here is physical- on defense and the run game

Waco La Vega

Dropping down to D2 could give Don Hyde’s Pirates an edge.

China Spring

Last time they were D2, the cougars brought home a title.

Hamshire Fannett

Weoponry won’t be a problem for the Longhorns

Jasper

Classic Jasper Football: tough, gritty, fast, and mean

Madisonville

QB Ty Williams headlines a experienced offense

Silsbee

QB Michael Moshier is back, as is star LB Gary Farr

Lorena

The Leopards make the leap from 3A with a strong front 7

West Orange Stark

The Muststangs should bring glory back to southeast Texas @WOSdrummer99

Sealy With 14 starters in tow, is this the year the Tigers roar back?

By the looks of your handle emblem and name, you are not the one to talk if you cant even smell the playoffs in football. Keep all the politics down south. IJS

And to you talking about respect????... 15 miles down South and you talking about respect? What a joke. Try to hold onto a coach for more than a year and win some ball games, then you can throw some shade!!!!😴

Sorry your feelings got hurt…but thanks for proving my point…hopefully the Eagles can break through one of these seasons.

    • naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!
    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McnNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
