Dave Campbell Texas Football magazine

Recommended Posts

Why I can’t lie to y’all, this is Coach Bear and I started this topic. South of New Orleans working here after 40 years of coaching piss cause I hadn’t got my Texas Football yet. But I saw Dave Tepper delivered to y’all. Great job. I got that beat this morning, after doing my morning bus run at the construction job here in Port Sulphur Louisiana. I drove up to my travel trailer. There is a limo, and guess who gets out Roger Staubach and Earl Campbell and Dhat Nguyen, followed by my teammatesin the 1979 THSCA all-Star game in Fort Worth, Erik Dickerson and Craig James, then it’s kind of like clowns coming out of a car, 2211 for offense and 11 for Defense Victoria’s Secret models came out and finally they presented me my Texas Football magazine. Then the heavens opened up and the Angels sing hallelujah     I was going to attach a picture that I took sitting on my toilet reading Texas Football but it said the file was too big, I understand that because I am Ukrainian and you know the saying once you go Ukrainian the love connection makes you insane again. Just saying. —

Seriously, Football right around the corner and I’m excited

Oh yeah, hell yeah as a 40 year coach in East Terrace county and a graduate of great football at Marlin High School. I know in Belleville y’all got great football. Good luck on your season. I’m gonna enjoy it from here in New Orleans as I work and understand I’m 63 going on 23 and a little bit of a smart ass, my coach y’all favorite I think his name is Cougar 23. That boy can talk to smack but he was a hell of a player that Offensive Coordinator screwed over. Seriously he was jealous of him because of the girl he was dating and he wouldn’t give him the football. I could change stories how men have let their feminine emotions get to them in football and screw things up. Anyway, I smell that wet grass in the morning and feel the sweat of forehead can’t wait football star I’m a crazy guy go go Aggies go LSU, go Texas go Cowboys go Saints. Do you think I like football?

Sorry the former helluva player of mine at Crosby is Cougar 14:2! Smack talker, great athlete, smart, son is a rb at Crosby senior i believe unless he used nil transfer. Helluva powerlifter,,qualified for state i believe at the most competitive weight- outside linebacker weight 175! Jalen Hurts was also a helluva powerlifter. Did great at regionals but just missed state

Has anyone seen the magazine in the stores yet. They said on the shelves by the fourth of july.  If like last year probably 2 more weeks.

Up north it's probably on the shelf, I haven't heard about em being on the shelves here locally, but like in previous years it may be in the stores but they just haven't put em on the shelves yet.

I've been very careful to say after July 4.

Two things to remember

1) once they ship from the distributor its out of our hands, they get picked up and delivered to retail outlets and then it's really dependent on when their vendor comes in and puts them put.

2) Retail distribution is more limited now, it will be harder to find because there are fewer magazines distributed

Just going by what your site said. When the magazine was to be available and you show the stores on a map who are to have the magazines.  Well, then this should not be a problem. My problem is I do not want to subscribe because I do not want but the one magazine and will not be forced to pay 50 dollars for magazines that I do not read or want.
must be a financial problem in order to survive. If so, I wish you the best and hope you succeed . Thanks for all the past times that I have enjoyed the magazine.

Too be fair you get more than a magazine with your subscription.

I have been one of the more vocal critics against DCTF for all of the same reasons that you identify. However, I ended up getting the subscription a few months back and have found it to be worth the money and a pleasant experience. I did not initially believe that I would need or want all of the information that comes with the subscription but have found that I utilize the package much more than what I thought I might.

I have found the subscription to effectively be an "ongoing magazine at my fingertips". I stand corrected and withdraw all of my previous criticism.

Correct the site I believe just says after July 4 which is pretty open ended. It could be on store shelves today, could be in two weeks..its hard to know for sure

Retail distribution is just not near as profitable as it once was, it's just the reality of doing business in 2024...we either adapt or go the way of other print media

The podcast alone is worth the yearly fee. I have been a member for 4 years and have never received a magazine, but haven't really worried about it because i am mostly a subscriber for Stepp and Tepp.

The Texan live included is what’s big IMO. But yeah Stepp and Tepp is great lol

You knew the magazine would not be in the stores yet because you held them back in order to get more people to subscribe. Old honest Abe.

It’s a cost thing. We’re frankly lucky they even issue a paper version. Magazines across the world are barely hanging on.

Actually we've been doing that for a few years now and we haven't lied about that. Holding magazines from going to stores enables an additional subscriber benefit that we want to offer to our customers.

I was intentionally obtuse about the after July 4th date because there's really no way to know exactly when stores will receive them from distributors.

Printing magazines and getting them to stores is much more costly than it used to be, there's a lot of middlemen involved and they no longer offer rebates on unsold inventory...

Hopefully they'll be in stores soon, I enjoy going to HEB and seeing them on the racks

Thanks Matthew. Actually I could go along with the subscription process but I definitely will not put my credit card on the internet.

You can call the office and speak to one of the ladies in customer service maybe they can help out somehow, I work in fraud and I understand the risks of putting your credit card on the internet, but you are basically putting your card info on the internet when you use your card at point of sale as well since they are all connected to the internet
