Non-district games are non-district games, has no effect on our games going forward after that unless injuries or worse (a bad season) occurs.

Several starters coming off of injury and might not make it back in time for non-district. Not sure when they will be medically cleared. So working off of that info I think it is very possible we start the season 0-2 if they all miss. Guyer has historically been a tough program for us to beat so that wont change this year. Lancaster on the other hand is a wildcard. They are talented but in general I'd think we would beat them more often than not but with the handful of potential starters missing then it makes this game that much harder.

No idea. DC has the QB listed as Zeke Cantu , but not sure. I did watch a big kid last year during blowouts that was killing DB’s when he got through the line though. I’m hoping to get up there for the Shadow Creek scrimmage on Friday to see for myself.

I was told it was a new kid who had transferred in prior to this season. That could be inaccurate info, but that's the word anyway. Someone has to know.

Yes, Zeke Cantu, he was backup last year.  He is a big kid, my opinion offense will run a bit more with him, but will sling it also.  I would equate his style more to Holdren’s than to Fuentes’s. When he does run,  he doesn’t look to avoid contact. He looks to be around 6-1/6-2, 215-220.

That’s a good thing then. Holdren gave us a multi dimensional look while Fuentes was a great passer. Defenses won’t be able to just drop back in coverage with Zeke. Insert true option with J-Rod and that could be something ✌️

I had us at 1-2. I figured Klein Oak and La Porte would give us a lot more trouble. As it is, happy to be 3-0. Hopefully it will be 4-0 come Saturday.

Happy to say, my prediction might be off by one game, hopefully, with a win Friday night.  This will put the Mustangs at 4-1 going into district.  The defense seems to have improved from last year, as far as stopping the run...but the pass defense was exposed Friday against Episcopal.  Not sure what goes on in the locker room at halftime, but the second half and finishing games has been a problem for the past 2 years and was no different last Friday night.  Hopefully that gets fixed, or it could be another 4th place finish again.

ONLY game they had in the bag early was Cleburne. DK actually outplayed PAM, but killed themselves with turnovers and penalties. Damn near let a private school that barely beat Hitchcock, come back. Hightower was a slug fest that PAM just got wore out because  imo, defense was out there ALL night. So yes they are 3-1, but an ugly 3-1. I guess u have to have a little luck. You are very lucky I can't find statistics on Jones and his QB play.  I've seen a lot of dumb ass statements on this site over the years but Jones not completing more than 5 passes in a game so far is flat out ignorant.  Just dumb.  You've been quiet all week leading up to Cleburne and you should stay that way

Holdren was probably my all time favorite Eagle. I just loved the way that kid played. One of the few QB's who left more bruises on an opponents defense than they left on him, lol.

Holdren was really good. He was unstoppable against PNG in 2021, if I’m thinking of the right kid.
