prepballfan
Can the Indians make a 3rd trip to state. We have a lot of kids back from last season including the whole o line minus one kid and the whole d line minus 1 kid. Losing Nguyen will hurt but from what I have seen so far the running attack or the backfield looks great. Blair broke off a 50-80 yard TD run in the spring game. That kid is so fast and big as well. The whole offense is back for the most part and a few of the key contributors on defense are back. Fuentes, Hernandez, and Wenchel are all back. The team is loaded with kids who have had the fortune to play in 32 games the last 2 years. Not to mention the two o linemen who are major college recruits. Hoping for another great season. The other factor is Jeff Joseph and McDaniels. Two defensive gurus and great coaches. Best of luck to all of our SETX teams in 2024. Rez
The RB corps might be stronger overall than last year. A true “whoever has the ball can break a big one” situation. It will be hard to replace Nyugen, for sure - I don’t know if we’ve ever had an RB who read the play so well. But I think we’ll be faster this year, so that opens up more runs to the outside. I’m just hoping we don’t drink the rat poison on all the pre-season rankings and predictions. We’re not guaranteed anything, and the odds of making it back to state again are always extremely low. Not to mention serious potential for a drop in the seeding if we lose to Lake Creek or Huntsville (Dayton and Montgomery will be good too, and Nederland is going to a lot better than last year), setting up a second round matchup with South Oak Cliff. It’s a dangerous district, and the playoff path is vastly more difficult. All that being said - We’ve got great pieces, great coaching, great experience, and a great fan base. Sky’s the limit. NHSBulldogFan
The question for this year's team is who is the x-factor you could count on Shea Adams for those short yardage situations the question is who's that guy this year..Indians will be fine in the run game with the offensive line and a guy that's the 2nd coming of Justin Eicher
prepballfan
Coach didnt even mention state in his address to the crowd. He said new year, new players, new district, and new challenges. He said the work is cut out for them and they are focused on district play. This coach is just different. If you see a guy on the field its because he earned it. I will agree the RB room is going to be faster with the trio that I have seen so far. Rez
AledoAlumni
'53-'55 three consecutive finals appearances winning 2 titles. '74-'77 4 seasons in a row yall played 14+ games, winning a title. What would need to be accomplished for this run to be considered the golden era of PNG football? Rez

I would think another title win either this year or within the next 2 or 3 seasons with some semi final/title appearances would be undisputed. Even matching the '53-'55 seasons I would say this is a better era. Ball is way different now.

Nerves of steel. We’re going to need to find someone with his ability to create mismatches and execute clutch plays.
