Incorrect.

I just watched the TL broadcast of the game. Rice was much bigger, particularly in the skill positions. #2 for them looks pretty special. Their QB is pretty good. Their defense is solid. I can see them making some noise in Region IV 3A DII.

Rice is in a tough district though with the likes of #10 Tidehaven, #12 East Benard, #21 Vanderbilt Industrial and Boling. They actually could miss the playoffs.

Rice returns 9 offensive and 9 defensive starters.

I was checking scores and noticed EC replaced the Rice Bowl with Rice Consolidated.  HF and EC always play each other well. It probably would have been more fun for the students to just keep having the Rice Bowl IMHO.

HF is on the rise, and EC is going to most likely continue to drop, or maybe do what they do generally every year, which is have a good regular season against a bad schedule and then lose in the first round half the time, the second round the other half.  At the rate things are going I don't think EC is going to do much in sports outside of soccer in another 5 or 10 years.

there's always been kind of a gray area on either side of HF, with HJ pulling from one direction and EC pulling from the other.  I would assume just about any kid that HF might've used to lose is staying put these days.
