Uh volleyball is #9 in the state till new rankings come out thanks

TBH those polls are less than reliable… Now Lumberton has done well but they haven’t really played anyone either… but anyways back to the football side of things… this will shock some but give me the Raiders in this one…

This is the worst team Lumberton has had in years. BC looks like another average football team that thinks they’re the cool kids on the block for beating up on little ol schools that aren’t good at football. Seems to me the new head coach scheduled games just to have a winning record at the end of the season lol, not to make the kids better. With that being said I still think Bc wins this one by 2 touchdowns.

Like i said lumberton girl sports is better than boy sports. Soccer, volleyball, band drill team and cheer is better than the football team and the dallas cowboys.

Normally I would agree, but my Mighty Raiders have seen better days in the last few years.

I think bridge city has been playing lesser opponents. Im going with the upset with the raiderettes over big birds

Nobody thinks they are the cool kids on the block. That is a false narrative. You assume they are looking past Lumberton and the rest of the district. Also “beating up on smaller schools” is ridiculous considering the recent record of BC.

• 23-24: 3-7
• 22-23: 1-9
• 21-22: 4-6

Last year Buna was 1 score and a two point conversion from forcing OT, Orangefield game was 9-6 till 4th qtr. They also ended the year on an ugly note with a loss to Liberty.

BC hasn’t completely dominated anyone in recent memory. This year they are vastly improved on both sides of the ball. I believe they will compete in every district game and be in the playoff conversation at the end of the season. All this hooplah about who is on the schedule and opting up is just hogwash. Why aren’t Liberty and HJ being ridiculed for opting up? Oh I know, because they aren’t sitting 3-0 or performing as good as BC is. One thing is for certain. BC isn’t a pushover anymore and you don’t like that.

All three were ridiculed when they opted up back in February.

Oh theyre not??? If they weren't and IF THEIR OWN ADMINISTRATION. thought so, they would be still be competing with WOS, silsbee, HF and Jasper for district wins... not opting up to run away from better teams.

Still missing my point… who cares what the administration did. The kids and coaches are doing a great job with what they were given and they look the best they have looked in YEARS. Stop discrediting their success by saying they are “beating up on smaller schools” when those smaller schools were beating them or close to beating them the past several years.

Yes Bridge City is definitely in a better spot that’s true and no one can argue that.. BUT your flaw in the  “Those small schools were almost beating Bridge City” is that Buna, Kirbyville, and Orangefield  are worse teams this year than they were the previous 2 years

Let them have their success.  Doesn't happen that often in BC.  They'll come back to reality soon enough.

Don’t forget the big difference in my opinion. BC has 33 Sr’s. That’s the difference between last 2 years versus this years success.

That's a double-edged sword. Lumberton lost the same amount of seniors this year and are seeing a decline in performance. Hopefully, BC can back those senior numbers up with quality underclassmen or next year could be a tough row to hoe.

BC and their success against a 3A schedule vs. Lumberton and their struggles against a 5A schedule. Kinda tough to judge this one.  I think it's safe to say that BC has improved and Lumberton is down from last year.  The question is how they match up now that they've both moved the needle back to the center, and it's honestly kinda tough to judge based on the discrepancy in their schedules.  I'm leaning towards the cards, but I haven't made my pickems yet.
