Separation Scientist Posted yesterday at 05:14 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:14 PM BH has exceeded my expectations by going 3-1 intead of 2-2 in predistrict. Now, the records that count are all 0-0. BH lost two very important skill starters very early, RB1 and WR1. We do have depth but those two are just hard to replace. So we start district on a long road trip at Lufkin next week. PAM, Ball and Lufkin are all ranked ahead of BH. This would imply BH is the "fourth seed" at this point. Can BH compete against all the Lufkin athletes at their house? Can BH solve the special team issues? Lufkin is certainly the favorite, but if BH plays a complete game, we can have a chance. Its real now. BHFAN

PackAttack
With respect to all of our new district opponents, there is much to learn in a new district. You can see there is a lot of good talent and coaching in this district. Everything all the teams have done to this point means nothing now, everyone starts 0-0 . I think there will be some good matchups and looking forward to seeing what Lufkin can accomplish this year. We are no different than anyone else right now, trying to get all the starters back on the field at one time, it hasn't happen all year for us. BH is without some key players too, it's always about your depth and next man up. Got to play with who you have healthy. We are so far North in this district and we play all of our non- district games even further North. Makes things harder for us to keep up with other teams in the district. Lots of respect for Barbers Hill, a good program and with good coaching. They had a decent playoff run last year. Should be a very competitive game. Just hoping my Panthers can protect their home field next Friday night.

BHFAN
This should be a good game. From the Lufkin website I think they believe this is a lock, but BH will give them all they want. BH seems to play this area well and it was thought BH would lose to both Forney and Mckinney North the last two years by this area, and both were sent packing. BH and Lufkin have struggled with injuries, but Lufkin has gotten back a key piece to their offense. Lufkin's strength is their defense and BH's strength are in the trenches, so we get to answer the age-old questions of defense wins championships or games are won in the trenches Lufkin has to be the favorite playing at home, but i see a low scoring hard fought game with the first one getting to 21 winning. I think the BH O will be limited as well as the Lufkin O and turnovers will be huge if not the deciding factor in this game, so If BH can hold on to the ball and contain the Lufkin O the Eagles have a chance.
